Buyer changed mind, I rejected return. Can they open another case?

Hello,

I am a long time ebayer (more than 15 years) but not sold much recently due to lack of time. Anyway was having a clear out and decided to dip my toe in again and sold a couple of items (less than £20) - all good. Then I decided to sell a higher value item in the low hundreds.

Item sold and I dispatched day after payment received. Tracking added to listing and clear and easy to follow. Buyer contacted me and said item is slow in being delivered. I looked it up and responded that weekends and day of drop off are not counted in courier's 3 day promise.

4 days after receipt buyer contacts me to say item doesn't do a certain thing and they had asked me prior to purchase. Buyer did not ask me this so I responded maybe they had me confused with another seller/item.

They also opened a return request. I got an email from ebay saying fund are frozen (I am on new ebay payment system not paypal).

My listing states no returns accepted. Based on the above communication I declined the return.

After I had declined the return the buyer confirmed they had me/my item mixed up with someone else and if they can still return it. I have not responded becauase as far as I am concerned the matter is settled.

However I have read that ebay pretty much always side with buyer so I am now wondering if I will get another spurious claim from buyer.

In short my question is:

Can the buyer open up any other type of case to try and get a refund?

The buyer can only open one dispute and once that is closed that should be the end of it.

If they opened the return request then you can refuse

If they opened a not as described dispute then you have to accept it back.

Was it a return or not as described?.
