Why has ebay not implemented web push notifications for desktop users? Notifications can only be sent via the app or text on a phone you might not always have with you or via email that you might not see immediately, so desktop users have no way of seeing real-time notifications. I have just had this very scenario: my phone was downstairs charging and I was working upstairs on the laptop with my email client signed out to avoid distractions so I didn't see any notifications, missed the auction end and was unable to bid. This is exactly what web push was created for, so why don't ebay use it?
I've found some discussion of ebay trialling web push notifications a few years ago, yet they seem to have been discontinued without any explanation.
