In the event that you decide to take @buffster1963's advice be careful about the reason you give as to why you are ending the listing. If you end the listing on the basis that the item is damaged or out of stock then you will more than likely incur a defect on your selling account. However, if you choose "Error In Listing" as the reason why, then relist the item again at the starting price that you should have started the auction at, you may end up with eBay deciding not to hit your selling account with a defect.
In addtion to the above I would also advise you to send the bidder a message explaining what has gone wrong and apologising for the fact that you have made the decision to cancel the bid and end the listing. The bidder will more than likely not be pleased about the auction being ended prematurely, but by taking the time to explain your reasons for doing so and apologising the bidder may understand why you have chosen to do so, and if he or she really wants the item, may feel inclined to bid again, whereas this may not be the case if you just pull the listing with no explanation as to why you are doing so and nothing by way of apology for the inconvenience caused.
