Argument over who pays for the return

I purchased a spare part from a private seller but the wrong item was sent. I started a return but the seller is insisting I pay for the return postage and I cannot find a returns label. I have asked him for a label, but he seems to be getting rude and arrogant over it, stating I purchased what was shown in the picture.

Any suggestinos where I go from here please?

There no longer seems to telephone support from the UK.

How do I get ebay customer service involved?

Thanks.

You will be able to escalate your return to eBay after 3 complete working days and you should receive a paid-for (by the seller) return postage label via eBay.

Argument over who pays for the return

Did you open a case?

If not do so now with "not as described" as your reason

They will have no choice but to accept and send you a free label.

Once it times out you can get ebay to refund you.

Yes, case opened, seller responded by giving me the return address but no label.  Requested a label but he says he sent the item in the picture (which is true) but does not fit the appliance as claimed by him.

What reason did you use in the case? They should be sending you a label if not as described, if you chose does not fit. they are treating as a change of mind, hence no label.

What reason did you choose for the return @plasticpiggie ?

It does matter.

If it was ‘Does not Match photos or description’ 72 hours after opening the case you’ll see a blue button to the right of the ‘contact seller’ button. This will generate a prepaid label.

If you chose another reason the seller can refuse to accept the return (case will close) or accept it and you buy the label. If this is this your situation that’s what you’ll need to do if you don’t want to keep the item.
