Nottingham Trent University (Peregrine's Nest)

Naturally I don't know if anyone would be interested in watching these Peregrine's, live on video camera at the University. 

The eggs surely are soon to be laid. Last year and the year before 3 eggs each time were laid, and all the birds fledged well. 

The female Peregrine has been in the nest quite a bit lately, making the groove in the nest ready for laying. 

Three camera's there as can be seen. One is the distance camera, that gets rotated now and again, for back view, and zooming in. The second camera is always on the nest, that too gets zoomed in at times. Then the third camera is a thermal image.

Yes. She has just got back again now, on the ledge at the moment she is sitting. Shame how the weather is, but of course March brings an array of temperatures.

The egg is glowing on the thermal camera, I guess she knows how long it can be left.

Snap. I just looked at that camera, so all over glowing.

Still no sign of a second egg.

So suprising as last year the three eggs, as the year before that, all were laid in fairly quick succession.

I have just clicked on the thermal image camera, it looks like maybe there are two eggs now.

I looked in again at just the right moment, 9.05pm, the mum now has 2 eggs.

This is just as she laid her second egg. Then gently moving it to the side of the first one.

Nothing to be concerned about, she only flew off five minutes ago.

Yes, she is a good mum, sat there all night, and for a lot of the morning, and now probably just gone off to stretch her wings, and fill her tum.

Whoopeeee, a third egg has been laid. Now Triplets.

I last looked in just after 1am and there was no sign, must have laid it during the night. Well done Mum.

A friend of mine in South Africa also watches the nest. It was her that let me know about the third egg, and showed me the photo.

The male has just flown in and taken over brooding duty.
