I have had a new listing refused because of an 'out-of-policy' statement I included in the description. It would be a simple thing to edit but, because the listing has been 'ended', it won't let me change it. What am I doing wrong - I don't want to generate a totally new listing. I don't think it is fair that I have to do that for what was an honest and very simple mistake.

I've found this happen regularly with policy violations - the listings are ended and appear in your unsold listings where you are unable to relist, sell similar or even delete them from the list, you just have to wait them to drop off eventually (after 90 days maybe?)
The only way I have found around it is that if you have listed the item more than once you may find it by doing a search on ebay for 'complete listings' then when you click on the listing do 'sell similar' or 'relist' removing the offending elements.

The other bug I've found with this is that ebay will send you an email explaining the violation and saying 'Go to the listing page to select Revise Listing, or go to your Active Listings in Seller Hub to edit the listing ... These listings are still in your Active Listings folder in My eBay and Seller Hub so you can edit them to address the issue.'
But actually the auction is ended immediately and put in unsold items as above.
