Private seller here. Sold used item. Buyer ebay messaged me on receipt to say they tested it and it works perfectly. Left me good feedback. Suddenly on the eve of the 30 day window I receive a message from eBay saying buyer states it's defective/doesn't work and an auto return had been initiated. He didn't reach out to me but sent me a message after actioning the return with the same fluff he wrote in the return case - essentially he's been using it sporadically over the weeks and it no longer works.   It has just been returned to me, now no longer working as it had been when I sent it. I have a couple of days to act as ebay are pressuring me to refund him. Yes, I do offer 30 day returns, but isn't he (fairly new member) violating a bunch of policies - false reporting, USING an item before returning, exploiting money back guarantee, etc? Hello   Just had an interesting conversation with a eBay representative regarding a buyer using the mention of feedback in a message as leverage to get his way. The eBay representative said this accepted for a buyer to do this.   The buyer has been offered full refund upon return and made clear that I as a seller pay the return postage, the buyer refused to return even though they claim the item is faulty.    I always thought that any mention of feedback in a message is considered as leverage and something eBay frown upon, it appears now this is not the case so if you are a seller and have business on eBay please be aware that another piece of seller protection has been taken away from us.   Losing confidence in eBay as buyers are again doing what they like to try to scam refunds and absolutely no physical action from to stop this is apparent. I'm really annoyed that eBay have found in favour of a buyer and it's going to financially impact me. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions around what I can do? Ebay has found in favour of my buyer returning a Jo Malone cologne as the buyer has misused the returns policy to claim it is out of date. The batch number on the cologne can be checked online 1) to confirm authenticity and 2) the expiry date of the cologne (which confirm it is authentic and in date). I also have the store receipt from June this year which I submitted to eBay when disputing the return. eBay have not responded to me reporting the buyer for misuse of returns policy and i can't seem to raise it again because the site is saying I've done it once. I can't resell the item in 'new' condition as the buyer has used it so I will be financially out of pocket. can I use the the fact that the returned item is not in the same condition as I sent it to raise a further dispute? ... Hi All, A buyer purchased a watch for £1,000. I noticed the buyer is a freight forwarder/reshipper - specifically Shop Airlines Europe B.V on behalf of Sekaimon, which I believe means the watch is to be shipped to Japan after I post it to their UK warehouse. Some quick Googling has brought up quite a few complaints about these types of buyers/Sekaimon purchases and I was wondering if you can advise. I have seen reports of buyers opening disputes weeks/months after the item has been delivered to the address in the UK - which is clearly occurring after the item has then arrived in Japan, and that eBay/PP always automatically refund the buyer. There are also accounts of items being damaged beyond repair during the reshipping process and reports of counterfeit items being swapped for the original item when they're returned.   I know eBay rules say sellers are not accountable for items if they are posted onto any further addresses after the original, but this does not seem to make any difference in these cases as the sellers cannot PROVE the item has been reshipped.   Do I need to do anything to protect myself? Should I cancel the sale? I am scared of losing my item and the money also as it is a very expensive item.   Thanks in advance.  ... View more

I've just had a bid retracted on one of my items.  I was informed of this by email from eBay and told to click on bidding history to see the reason, but there's no sign of that bidder or any reason.  I haven't altered my listing and I have other bidders but am just wondering if it's now perfectly acceptable to bid and then retract it without any challenge.  It rather defeats the point of an auction - I've had people contact me before who've made an offer and then withdrawn it because they made a mistake and I've understood that, but they've had the courtesy to contact me.  If bidders can get away with retracting bids it's very bad business practice.   ... I have recieved a return request from a buyer on an item that had no damage on postage, was packed securely and would have been difficult to recieve the damage the buyer stated when he opened the box and noticed the Motorcycle helmet had both cosmetic and structual damage (rapped in bubble wrap, outer box highlighted fragile item etc). The photos shows no damage to the box and it looks as if the helmet has been dropped (which I didnt do obviously).    Has anybody expereinced return requests where the item has bene dmaged by the buyer and he / she states it arrived damage to get thier money back?   I have contacted ebay and they have suggested I contact Hermes who will only conpensate 25.00 of the 220.00. So now I will recieve a previously perfectly good morotcycle helmet, be out of pocket 195.00 plus P&P both ways and if my assumptions are anywhere near the truth, the buyer is laughing!    Is there anyway I can question the return request with ebay?  ... I sold my item on 11 august. The buyer paid via paypal and collected the item in person. My payment was on hold saying it will be available on 1 september. Today is 4th already. it says that my money is been released and i will see it in next 24 hours but i see that info since 1 st and again today is 4th so since when 24 hours last 4 days? Thats already 96 hours and not 24. Where is my money and how long again i need to wait for my money? How dare you people to keep my money. Please release it right now.
