Hello there,
I do not know whether I can find any folks passionate about antique objects of art, but I am trying my luck!
I`ve encountered a very nice, extremely beautiful 100+ years old Fountain Pen in excellent condition. The brand is famous for collectors around the world. Waterman has made some of the most, if not the most ultra extra refined and perfect gold nibs. Their tines are long and slender, the slit holds strong, and the shoulders of the nib allow a very big and wet variation of the line. In other words, these nibs are FLEXIBLE. They come in various materials and colours that today are not longer available.
The seller has done a perfect job by providing ultra HD photos, with writing samples all over the table, with close-ups and panoramas. Moreover, he has full positive feedback, quite a long history and he also endeavored to record up a video of the item. His description seems legit.
The question is, how can I be sure about the quality of the nib? Is it made out of 14k gold as he claims? There is no reason why I should not believe him, since the item is very rare and he put a huge effort in rendering his listing...but there is also a second BUT!!! I expect the listing to end at around 500$ or so...As a matter of fact... Please share your opinion!
