"New ways to use and access your funds starting 16 October"

According to ebay this will give me more "flexibility". Having read the text several times can anyone see any extra flexibility whatsoever? In fact it requires extra effort to withdraw my money when it becomes available.
Ebay states-
"We also want to inform you that starting 16 October 2024, you’ll have more flexibility when it comes to your funds on eBay. Here’s what’s changing: eBay balance Earnings from your sales will appear in your balance. You can use your balance to: • Treat yourself by shopping for the things you love on eBay. • Easily pay for delivery labels, promote your listings, and cover other selling needs. Payout changes With the arrival of eBay balance, we’re also changing how payouts work. The following changes will take effect after a final scheduled payout on 16 October 2024: • Daily, weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payout schedules will no longer be offered. • You can withdraw available funds from your balance on demand. • If you don’t use or withdraw your balance, we’ll automatically send your available funds to your bank account on the first Tuesday of every January, April, July and October. You have the option of withdrawing whatever amount you want,  whenever you want OR you can keep it in your balance if you want to use it to buy stuff on ebay. If you want to withdraw, it takes a couple of clicks and the money will most likely be in your bank more or less straight away.

The additional flexibility is the ability for people to use the funds to buy postage or make purchases on eBay without having to withdraw the funds to their bank first.  If neither of those things is of interest to you then no it won't give you any more flexibility.

Whilst the funds now have to be withdrawn manually it only takes a couple of seconds and the processing times are pretty much the same as before, so most people should see the funds in their bank pretty much straight away.

I have  seperate accounts for selling and buying so not really much use to me, even in the unlikely chance I would use this.

A couple of questions....

1. Is it as good as Paypal in terms of money being in your Paypal balance immediately after making a sale?

2. Can you keep any money in your Ebay balance permanantly, in other words, NEVER have money transferred to your bank account?

It won't be as instant as PayPal but should be pretty quick once a seller is established.

Funds will remain in your eBay balance for up to 3 months before being automatically transferred to your bank.

It seems you can't please everyone.

The extra effort is clicking on a 'withdraw' button.

Is that such as effort?

After clicking on Payments select Summary.

A  blue banner will appear with any available funds.  Click on the arrow in that  banner.

This brings you to another pop up screen.

Scroll  down, past all the options to use funds for labels , buying items etc to the very bottom to another arrow and withdraw.

You than manually enter   the amount you wish to withdraw where it currently shows £0.00

Yea it is an "effort" (nuisance) if people are not at home at the time, don't have a smartphone and need the money in their bank account on the first possible day or hour in order to cover bills or buy food and suchlike. It should be automatic and immediate.
