ebay now charging to revise listings?

I've just relisted a bunch of items.  Naturally, ebay have automatically changed my custom shipping to 'simple' (anything but), even though 90% of them are still eligible for custom postage. 

So, I go to edit some of them & every single one of them - before I change a thing on the listing - wants to charge me 35p to revise it!

What gives?    I had no such problems yesterday.

I think it's got to be a glitch related to the introduction of 'Simple Delivery', with ebay going into everyone's live listings & changing the shipping rates (& randomly - & in some cases, incorrectly - guessing package sizes).

That & the 'Buyer's Protection Fee' has made the site a complete mess for me.  I'd honestly prefer it if they just went back to the old way of charging seller fees like they did a few years ago.

Nothing to do with Buyer protection. It's happening with both business accounts and personal accounts.

So the 12p fee applies even if it's not the seller but Ebay that is making the update? Wow! Talk about infinite money stream.

And if it's 12p to update an item imagine how much prospective buyers will soon be charged just to LOOK at one?

Does the payment say the fees are relisting fees? When you bulk sell similar it tells you which listings fees are charged on. Dooes it do it to all of them?

I have been on several times and the treatment I have received from eBay is disgusting. I am also being charged 12p every time I try to revise a listing into a shop category.  I was on the phone for one hour trying to get a complete *bleep* to understand when he finally realised he just stopped talking.  I honestly don’t think they know how to fix this glitch in their system.  I will not be listening anymore items until I am fully reimbursed the money that they have wrongly charged me for and if it does not come I will be closing my account. The stress EBay are causing me as a business seller has been horrendous lately and I have had enough. Alan Hossack

Alan. I feel your pain it’s disgusting the way eBay treat their clients.
They forget without business sellers they would have no income.

Just edited a few and got no extra charges. Hope whatever was happening on the 29th has stopped now.

JUST TRIED A NEW BULK EDIT...REDUCE MY PROMOTED LISTING RATE...£11.24 TO EDIT THEM...GOT OUT QUICKLY..so it is still going on..ARGGG

I had another go at editing a couple from the 29th.  They both came up with no fees to revise on the listings so I went ahead, but when I look in my balance, I've been charged 35p for each of them.  Awesome work ebay.  😞

If EBay had anything about them they should be updating all customers affected by this. They really should be putting out a statement to say they are working on putting this right and everyone will be refunded.  EBay are making obscene amounts of money for ripping people off by automatically changing the set up and adding new options. Even things like charging percentage fees on postage is wrong but unfortunately big companies can operate like this without being properly regulated.

Yeah ebay's bleeping system is definitley a sledge-hammer to crack a nut:  somebody referenced ebay being like a highwayman a few months ago.... 'bleep' Turpin 😂

As others have posted its a glitch floating around for years

To anyone reading this thread EVERY time you edit anything check for charges, EVERY time

It comes and goes, I think ending and relisting might sove it but thats no good when you have a sales hstory.

When you come to the charges page, you can filter edit those you will be charged for, you could make a note of the item numbers for CS but it genuinely is a long term issue, CS and board mods are aware of doesnt seem to be a priority

A ticket has been opened with tech for insertion fees being charged when revising listings. It is currently being investigated and once there is a further update from tech I will update the thread.

Spoke to EBay about this issue yesterday, no help was given.

It's been happening for a couple of weeks now. Will we be refunded>?
