Ebay was always heavily weighted in favour of the Buyers, but this new mad rule thats coming in next month about having to wait two days after delivery is confirmed to get paid is simply beyond the pale.
And sometimes delivery conformation never comes, apparently in that situation we have to wait 14 days to get our money.
This is disgusting and completely nuts. A self-destructive move from Ebay.

It stays on your account that you have cancelled the bids. I had a seller cancel my bids on Thursday saying they did not have the item and it was ebays fault that I got my bids cancelled as they should have remove the listing. I dont think the item existed in the first place. You have cancel the listing not ebay.

my point is that YOU in your comment said it does not happen and i gave you an example of where it has and i am sure that i am not the only person to receive the money in the time frame given. No, i do not have a special bank account, not sure what one of those would be! So anyone who disagrees with you or even just points out where you are incorrect in your comments is not 'decent'......

Yes they get a strike against their name. It happens all the time, but they dont remove the dodgy people.

that is the thing, everyone has to deal with the new rules in their own way and what suits them. Personally i have just been continuing how i always have, not changed any prices and not sending anything tracked. (just the free certificate of posting tracking number which works when the posties scans it). In other words plodding on as i have always done. NOW when SD comes in then i will be gone, that is one step too far.

@colleto_0 wrote:Here's a scenario where this wait until delivery before getting payment is unfair to seller. I had a buyer (on my selling account - not this one) who did a BIN on a figurine I was selling. I went on the computer a few hours later to package it up and the winning bidder had asked to cancel as they had "bid by mistake" (because all those steps you have to go through to buy something are easily accidentally clicked /s).
That's fine, whatever, I agree with the cancellation as I obviously haven't yet sent it. The thing is the refund (which was only around £13 in total but I can see this being an issue for bigger sales) came immediately off of my balance which meant the money that had cleared that day from a sale last week was straight away reduced. Okay fine - BUT I have to wait over 2 weeks to be given the original payment! Because I obviously am not posting it so no tracked postage so the default seems to be I have to wait for the money. I can't see how this is fair that it takes away my funds from a completely different sale to immediately refund the bidder yet I have to wait 2 weeks to be reimbursed. I feel if it is a buyer cancellation then the funds should only be returned from the original payment. Anyway, just wanted to warn people - can you imagine someone spoiling someones expensive auction - paying for it then immediately requesting cancellation (and there's nothing you can do about it as eBay will automatically accept it if you disagree - only lets you disagree if you have already uploaded tracking info which if they cancel straight away circumvents that), they get refunded immediately but it gets taken from either your funds from other sales or puts you in the minus so any new sales clearing will get eaten up until it's cleared and you have to wait weeks to get the original payment due to not sending tracked - for a private seller who is not running a business this could really mess up their finances.
That sounds decidedly wrong! Might be worth contacting customer services about?
Sounds 100% right to me. This is the sort of crafty trick eBay would pull so they don't have to pull your buyers money back out of their cosy sweet little investment pool they have just put it in !... instead they will simply HELP THEMSELVES TO YOUR PERSONAL MONEY which has nothing to do with the buyer who mucked you about and then cancelled RUINING YOU ! eBay don't care if they make you OVERDRAWN and IN THE RED - They will just debit your bank and refund your buyer from your bank money LEAVING YOU WITHOUT FOOD IF THEY HAVE TO ! - No thanks - I'm never selling another thing on eBay UNTIL THEY STOP THIS MALPRACTICE ! - Buyers refund should ALWAYS come from the ORIGINAL FUNDS THAT THE BUYER PAID WITH - NO IF'S OR BUT'S - EBAY SHOULD JUST CANCEL THEIR INVESTMENT AND RETURN THE BUYER THEIR MONEY BACK - NOT TAKE ADDITIONAL MONEY FROM THE SELLER AND THEN KEEP THEM WAITING ON A SHOESTRING !

It does not affect them. Sellers cannot block them even if the buyer does it dozens of times. That's not a penalty.

I think you need to look in your own back yard before you make nasty comments against me.
I have plenty on here that agree with me.
Nobody has been paid in 2 days with a tracking number, that's the point I am making. If you dont have a trackable way you post you wont get paid in 2 days either.
Only you don;t, and think you know everything, clearly you dont, so stop threatening me.
you have also are very negative attitude towards others on here, as you believe only you are the correct one.

I sold a item on my private account, Posted on the 10th using Royal Mail 48, delivered on the 12th and funds paid on the 14th.

Congratulations
You have been very lucky because two of mine were received the following day by 1st class signed for and still havent been paid, these were delivered in one day of posting and feedback has been left for everyone to read including ebay. Where you can see the tracking and the signature is present.
I have always for 21 years sold things always TRACKED, 1ST CLASS, SECOND CLASS SIGNED FOR, TRACKED 24 AND 48 AND ALSO BY SPECIAL DELIVERY.
The tracking on Royal Mail has not been scanned therefore I will not be paid in 2 days, 4 days but 30 days, and thats from Ebay on the phone. If you do not have a tracked service and use a proof of postage that is not a trackable service, and thats what I was told in the first place by Ebay in 2004, so its not changed.
Royal Mail system has been down last night and some of today.
I now have posted two today using tracked 24 I will tell if these are paid in 2 days, I will wait and see. I not banking on this happening. All I will know when these are delivered with photographic evidence to give to Ebay.
If these are paid in 2 days I will let everyone out there know its a miracle its working.

They are getting smashed on here & social media ( Facebook )
To think yesterday i had to wait for a callback - waiting time was almost 1h 10 mins , in 20 years Ive been a seller Ive never had to wait that long , Ive been ripping into them on the phone for the last 3 days
I think they will have to backtrack this idea its a really BAD move for eBay

I think the person who came up with this destructive idea should be given their P45 card and shown the door immediately !

It’s a pity that someone senior, assuming that they aren’t all AI, didn’t come on this forum and explain it as seen from the eBay point of view and open themselves up to polite questioning.

Wouldn't make any difference, as most of us are intelligent enough to work out what this new payment setup by eBay means.
To be honest, It's a complete shambles.
I can't work like this on the basis that If I sell anything, I'll have to "wait" for my money without knowing if it is 100% guaranteed or not !... even after the buyer has received my item OK and everything is fine ?
And like someone else has pointed out on this forum, that if a buyer buys an expensive item and then changes their mind asking you to cancel the sale... When you cancel the sale, then eBay will simply issue the full refund to the buyer from your OWN personal money and then make you wait 14 days/2 weeks before they let you have the original sale money that the buyer who was refunded had paid 2 weeks ago which is just terrible and unacceptable.
If that's how it's going to be now selling on eBay then count me out. 😞
