So Simple Delivery is here. Bite the bullet or lose Ebay I think.
I have never used postage labels and have some questions if anyone can help:
Does the label need to be any particular size?
Can you print it more than once if you mess up (which I will)?
Can you print to plain paper, cut it and tape to the package?
Many thanks.

I think I have worked out where this can be done.
My wife opened her ebay account recently and she could not print the postage label in the nice and easy format of 4x6" so that it would print on my Zebra label printer.
My ebay account (using the older non-simple ebay postage method which I prefer) I have the option to change the postage labels from A4 size to 4x6 size. So i copied the URL for this page and sent it to her. She then opened the URL in her web browser where she is logged on to her ebay account and she had the option to change her label print options.
Here is the URL for anyone else wanting to try this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/ship/single/preferences

I print 6" x 4". I cut a few A4 sheets in half and pop them in the printer, and the 6x4 label fits on one half of that half. I cut it out and stick on packet with sellotape. Yes, you can regenerate labels if needed.
Or, if you have a smart phone, the QR label can be scanned by the Post Office and they will print the label for you at no cost.

I'm a business seller, so I'm not - as yet - tortured by simple delivery.
However, I buy my postage from eBay and download the image as a .png, which fits on a standard 6" x 4" sticky label. I can reprint labels by selecting 'Postage Labels' from the menu on the Seller Hub, and I'm guessing that SD labels will possibly be the same. You can print the labels on plain paper - I get that option, but have never used it - so I don't know whether the size will be the same. If I ever get another order, I'll check and get back to you.

Thanks. Very interesting. I have taken the "simple" route of printing to A4 and then cutting and taping to the package. A small sample size but seems to have worked ok so far.

I buy my postage on the RM site. After I've paid it gives me a button to press to download the label(s). I press that and select Gimp photo editor as the application. I drag the label to the bottom of the page, to avoid printing the extraneous rubbish and just get the label itself. Press print, job done. Scissors, Selotape, parcel ready to be collected (or taken to the PO if you prefer).
If I have more than one item sold the same day (hah, those were the days, well done ebay for screwing up the platform) then I load all the labels (up to 4) into Gimp as layers, drag each to a different place in the page.
It takes a bit of practice, but once you're up to speed with it it's very quick.
I actually keep paper that's already printed on one side and use it for this purpose. Even paper that's printed on both sides but has a large blank area.

That's if you use sheets of labels. I don't do that. I use ordinary paper. Takes moments to cut out and stick it to the parcel.

Now you just have to get your calculator out and do a comparison of the price of sticky labels vs the price of sellotape. Simplez.

This may help those using label printers - took me ages(weeks) to figure out how to do it as I was just getting an unusable image in the top left corner of my 4 x 6 labels - only clocked today that there are options which I had not previously noticed : scroll down the page to 'more options', select paper size(in my case 6x4), select 'fit to printable area', and Bob's your uncle - cannot get it work from the ebay email, it has to be from the original label creation, and if that has disappeared in to the ether, select 'create new label' from your options for the sold item - if I had had this info at my fingertips a month ago I would have saved myself a lot of time and frustration, so hope this helps a few peeps out who like myself are not too hot with technology
