Option on sold listings to ‘send payment details’ has disappeared and I’m unable to send people invoices for combined orders like I normally do. I did a live chat with customer service, but I don’t really think they knew what I was talking about.
I have buyers waiting to pay, but are reluctant to pay for the entire postage cost in one go and have me refund due to the amount of money they would have in limbo.
anybody else having the same problem? Anyone at eBay able to confirm it’s being looked into so I can tell my buyers?

It's in the help section under "Opt out".
A couple of new threads here about Simple Delivery too.
There's no way combined invoicing can work with an AI system deciding package weight and sizing.

Don't forget the BPF too ...
& the option they allowed sellers to deselect a courier looks like a trap.
If you do deselect say Evri, your buyers then have to pay the most expensive tariff.
& because eBay left themselves a backdoor on that choice, they can still use Evri anyway.

I’m not a fan of Evri either. I don’t trust them as I know they leave things on doorsteps. I’m just selling off a Lego collection, is no way I’ll trust Evri to deliver any large sets. I know they’ve changed their name but they're still Hermes and we all know their reputation! So much depends on the delivery person, know there are good & not so good.
i understand EBay want items tracked and so do I. But it all sounds too complicated to me, I’m probably being dumb but why get rid of combined postage because of Simple Delivery?

"i understand EBay want items tracked and so do I. But it all sounds too complicated to me, I’m probably being dumb but why get rid of combined postage because of Simple Delivery? "
From the way it was initially described it sounded like an AI system (possibly with a database with predetermined weights/sizes).
From recent examples we've been seeing it looks like the system only accounts for product weight, making no/next to no allowance for packaging.
If it doesn't allow for packaging how can it allow for other items?
& then there's the greed side where if they stop combined invoicing they get 4%+75p on every order.

Have a guess who makes money with one item, one package?
Not the environment , not the buyer, not the seller.
Only the shipping company, who could be chosen at random, but ebay makes money on the extra fees it reaps.
It is possibly a fluke, from a highly skilled ebay designer producing a system which will not work with multiple items in a single package.
But id throw my cap at it being pure greed.

I am going to collection only as I can't do simple delivery (no printer, basic mobile), I know I shan't sell anything, who will come for a knitting pattern?

I've just received the message but can't see the bit about low value items, where exactly is that bit?

Re: combining poostage, I just got told by a customer support person on chat:
"There would be no send invoice option like normal, however when a buyer purchase multiple item the order will be automatic combine when they check out and pay for the entire order "
Which is the way the GSP used to work before they broke invoices.
Doesn't mention that on the information page the email linked to, so take with a pinch of salt. I was going to list some stuff in a month or so, but won't until I know for sure that combining postage is working.

Same here not going to list anything until this total shambolic mess is sorted,,Also now listing elsewhere without all this hassle.

'At the top 2nd paragraph down I think same goes for big bulky items'
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ah, I don't think that means low cost items.... I read it as items that are low-cost *and* bulky. ( like perhaps a bin bag of packaging materials!)
I think sellers of small and cheap items are still up the swanny here...☹️

Yes, this does work... sort of. I've just added two items with Simple Delivery from the same seller to the basket, and the postage total is less than buying them separately. The individual listings show £2.94 and £3.71 for Standard Tracked, and the combined cost is £5.36 or a saving of £1.29.
Of course, this being eBay the calculation isn't done properly. The postage cost for the smaller/lighter item is increased from £2.94 to £3.25, while the larger/heavier one is reduced from £3.71 to £2.11. Both items could actually be sent together within the size and weight limits for the £3.71 Evri service, but the algorithm isn't (artifically?) intelligent enough to know that. I suspect it works by virtually taping the two packaged items in their boxes together...

The way I read it you can still use Royal Mail for low cost items. I mostly sell for under £5 fits in an envelope. Mostly under 100gms. It is the Buyers Protection and no invoices that has killed off me selling my inherited collectables. You are right. I think private sellers are up the swanny.

Oh yes, RM is one of the options on Simple Del...... but the price you'll be paying for it is not optional 🙁
The lowest price with Simple D appears to be £2.70 (a tracked enevelope....)
