Option to send invoices disappeared

Option on sold listings to ‘send payment details’ has disappeared and I’m unable to send people invoices for combined orders like I normally do. I did a live chat with customer service, but I don’t really think they knew what I was talking about.

I have buyers waiting to pay, but are reluctant to pay for the entire postage cost in one go and have me refund due to the amount of money they would have in limbo. 

anybody else having the same problem? Anyone at eBay able to confirm it’s being looked into so I can tell my buyers?

Not sure how this is a solution as it solves nothing ! 

This issue has been going on for sometime now , how hard is it to put the button back to send invoice ? Why did it disappear?

Being a multi million pound interest surly this should have been sorted out by now

I doubt it will come back am listing elsewhere now they don't want us to combine anything because they will lose money that way especially when they take over the postage

You're probably right here, if they take over postage it's absolutely time to leave ebay forever.

All I have been able to do is to get them to pay then refund.

Nearly a week now since this started  so an update to the "Solution" needs to added if it is a tech issue and not something more sinister

I am having the same problem today - what is wrong? I have someone who has won 3 items and two others who have two each. My reputation for always combining postage will be damaged.

Right now, you only have 2 options to combine;

Partial refunds after complete purchase

or

Cancel the orders and relist together.

Having the same issue also. Have a buyer that has purchased multiple items and wants combined postage and it just comes up with an error message when I try to do it. Any news ?

Just had a web chat with eBay customer service.

The agent said:-

Please know that the send invoice option has been disabled currently

As a workaround, you can cancel the order and list all the items together in one listing, input postage cost and ask the buyers to purchase again so they can pay easily.... choose the reason issue with buyer's address to cancel

Also, you can ask to pay for all the items and you can issue partial refund for the postage cost

What on earth is going on.  This is causing chaos for sellers of small items who need to reduce post & communicate with a buyer with a note or instruction on the invoice form.  The lack of comms to us from ebay is unprofessional and totally unsupportive.  What possible reason would benefit suspending something so useful - if this is the case?

It's almost certainly because of the BPF. Specifically how it charges for every item on an invoice.

It's a Buyer Protection Fee, not ITEM.

There's no way they can legally charge 1 BUYER multiple BUYER PROTECTION FEE'S for a single transaction.

Almost certainly illegal.

So they probably blocked the thing where that became apparent. Easier and definitely safer (legally) for them than trying to recode.

It is my understanding – and I may be incorrect here – there’s a fee per sale (that is posted packet) plus a percentage. If purchases can be combined into one order, ebay would not be able to charge the fee for each item in the order. By forcing one-by-one sales, ebay earn more.
