Option on sold listings to ‘send payment details’ has disappeared and I’m unable to send people invoices for combined orders like I normally do. I did a live chat with customer service, but I don’t really think they knew what I was talking about.
I have buyers waiting to pay, but are reluctant to pay for the entire postage cost in one go and have me refund due to the amount of money they would have in limbo.
anybody else having the same problem? Anyone at eBay able to confirm it’s being looked into so I can tell my buyers?

I dont often cancel items - maybe one a year?
so as i havent got it selected, then ebay will stop sending my buyers reminders , and i can tell them they have, say, a month to pay then, like it used to be.

In all my years selling I have tried multiple times to get the settings to combine postage automatically and not once has it worked in any combination. Just another useless section on eBay’s website.

Why would you not create a combined postage discount rule so there's no need to send an invoice?
Mainly because when i give free postage the factors are not standard, and as such i can not plan for.
Also ebay is not reliable, hence this thread, so the less reliance on ebay the safer for buyers and sellers.

Like I said, I never used it.
But if it ends up displaying as a long list with all the items at the end, eBay will probably have to stop it too.
As all the items will have Buyer Protection Fee attached.
1 buyer
2 plus Buyer Protection Fees for the same transaction.
No way is that legal.

No, I don't think Ebay will stop sending reminders. First one comes after two days I think. When necessary (when I have agreed to a delayed payment), I point out to the buyer that they will receive reminders from Ebay but it is safe to ignore them.

What a mess this is

Yes, that's why I've been trying to help with the only "eBay approved" workaround.
This isn't going to get sorted the way you all want.
As there's the other way, relisting everything together, set your postage price and eBay still gets their combined BPF fees a transaction can still happen.
Ideal? Of course not.
But it will work.

How sure are you that its safe not to receive 'Strikes' - as a buyer ive had strikes when an agreement has been made with the seller according to CS. Now i accept it could be the seller who has mis-set the settings or it could be ebay auto opting a seller in or just a glitch - where would you put your bets?

The strike is associated with the cancellation. No cancellation no strike. Nothing to do with reminders.
Unless anyone has experience to the contrary?

Possibly auto cancels due to agreed delayed payment which lead to auto strike?

My account is also affected

Same here. Unable to send invoices or payment reminders.

Yeah, I have the same problem too. One person I've sold to says they will pay full amount (but haven't yet) but another hasn't responded at all. Also worried that not being able to put the same tracking number against more than one sale could end up in me not getting paid for all the items

I was given the customers email address, not the gobbledygook one ebay invent, but I questioned the validity of the email address as it began www. Plus they gave me their phone number, which was already available to me via the order, so that was genuine.
I have been in touch with my customer, feel like I'm a scammer. They haven't replied or paid yet, but I'm hoping they are still waiting for my other bids to finish.
This doesn't give customers a good feeling does it.

im having exactly the same problem

I am also having a problem with this.
What do I tell the buyer who is waiting for my invoice for combined postage?
03-03-2025 3:52 PM
Just tell them that EBay will not allow you to send an invoice and they will not be able to request one.
All you can do is ask if they are prepared to pay up front and you will refund them. It is more hassle, and needs an element of trust. Good luck.

I also took a screenshot of the message from ebay that says invoices are broken and do a refund. I attached that to the messages I sent to customers. Hopefully it made things a little more believable. So far I've been lucky and they've all trusted I will do the refund.
I thought eBay were trying to attract more users. Everything they have done recently has made me look more closely at the alternatives and this is just the icing on the cake.
