AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

Things like that happening will only stoke the fire even more.

Hopefully a lot more than the management here expected especially so quickly.

We even went into a post office today that we don't normally use just to see how things lie there and they knew nothing about simple delivery ,the staff I think thought we had gone mad ,they had no idea what we were talking about

The buyers choice of courier is only what the sellers choice is
no courier there is mandatory, you get to pick one or more as it suits you
I’ve never had on there a label for a courier I’ve deselected
i just didnt get the sale if the buyer didn’t want any of my choices and I’ve got most thngs selected except evri as they’re a bit of a trek
their rates are actually as opposed to here v competitive / cheap
with Royal Mail they don’t charge a penny extra for tracked 48
not so great is there’s no LL RM option it’s small parcel for small/medium size items
but there’s inpost which is 2.39 for a small packet which is almost three times the thickness of a RM large letter max

Well that will only add to how poorly SD has been thought out.

I had a similar conversation with my local postmaster last night. If they have been told anything about it they will probably know it best as Marketplace Seller which seems to be the RM name for these arrangements across a few platforms including ebay.

Apparently you can have the postie come and collect your items from your home and it says don't worry if you won't be in they will take the items from your safe place

My big issue is I like to deal with a company direct especially if any problem arose. I don't want to deal with a middle man who I know has only barged in to make some extra money.

I have just been over there and they have an offer on.£7.80 for lifetime platinum so i am going to try it.

Very true. Poor timing, poor planning, not thinking about all the implications has led to a very big own goal.

I’ve just scheduled time away from the 7th to 17th April and set up the following automatic response: “I’m suspending all my listings due to eBay’s enforced Simple Delivery. If they don’t review this enforced policy I will be removing all my listings. Simple Delivery does not benefit anyone apart from eBay.”

I wish you good luck. I'm not sure what one to try but am giving myself a little time to think about it.

Sorry £7.08.!

Absolutely well said. If I had more than 4 listings that I'm removing at the weekend I'd do the same.

A even better price. It's definitely worth me looking into.

Does anyone know some actual figures in terms of revenue when comparing private sales vs business sales? If private sales are minuscule compared to business maybe this is why they're not bothered. In addition to that they know that not all private sellers will leave so they'll still be feeding from the swine trough in terms of BPF and SD regardless of how many disgruntled users there are on this forum.
Also, are there many more business accounts compared to private?
