AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

So many good points. Just because RM have signed up to join this mess Doesn't mean post offices have to agree because a lot of them are franchised run. It's all going to become a nightmare of a mess.

That's why i took all mine off i can only have collect by RM so i would have to cancel sales get a black mark and neg feedback probably

I know it doesn't make much difference but it does make me feel better to have a good vent now and then, probably best not to bottle things up!

It is so wrong to remove a sellers choice for postage because of greed. Even if you put RM as your preferred choice SD will still be involved so you'll lose direct contact with your choice of carrier. Somewhere along the line that has to be wrong.

Absolutely. It's so difficult to not get involved when you know so many actions are so wrong on so many levels while at the same time being so careful about what you say and how to say it.

I wonder if there's a department in ebay trying to work out why all the private sellers are going on holiday at the same time this year?
With my stuff on hold I'm actually enjoying a break from the pressure of stuff possibly selling at any time and me having to drop everything to pack and post it to meet unrealistic delivery expectations ebay put on my listings.
Ebay should have some kind of government mental health warning like they put on cigarette packets. Or the gambling one "when the fun stops, stop" might be appropriate given the unreasonable pressure ebay have been applying to us recently.

I also like to post this list (that keeps getting longer) from time to time, detailing some of the greed fuelled decisions ebay have made recently:

Absolutely so true. I've just looked and this many posts since 10.45am on 31.03 shows just how much these changes have affected private seller/buyers.

Lol
Ive actually been saying about a health warning for collection only items for a while now. Since I read what can happen since cash was banned.
But I agree with you.
Don't know if you've ever looked at the FCA's page for eBay UK but they have a lovely big banner at the top warning everyone that if they go under they wouldn't be able to claim their money. They aren't registered that way.

I heard that and can only say thank god I don't sell high value items and I always withdraw my funds as soon as they are available.

you would think the independent post offices would say they won't accept the SD parcels why should they work for nothing who would ?
03-04-2025 9:17 PM
Think I need a friendly chat with my postie and local post office.
03-04-2025 9:21 PM
Think they get a small payment for each parcel
03-04-2025 9:22 PM
Yes I fully agree, its gone way too far,
I cant speak for others, but I think I'll be dropping out very soon,
I really hope that some other company sees all these new flaws with ebay (how they have destroyed it) and jumps in with a bigger better/fairer selling format.
Now would really be an ideal time to take advantage to scoop up all the disgruntled ebay users.

I wonder if any of them use the site and look at the forums. I know some posties definitely do.
03-04-2025 9:23 PM
yes vinted make the seller accept the buyers choice of courier otherwise vinted cancel the order ,so that won't be an option people will want ,and with ebay if you cancel a courier ebay put the price up on the other one so neither platform is giving sellers freedom of choice

Yes I always understood that although taking an item with a prepaid label did not have a financial value in their branch accounts it would still be counted as work performed and count towards their remuneration.
03-04-2025 9:25 PM
Ohh well. It was a nice thought while it lasted.
03-04-2025 9:26 PM
Not now they won't ,my friend owns a postoffice and she said she gets nothing from the simple delivery so she may have to consider closing .

The only hope is if the number of parcels fall enough then hopefully question if it's worth it.
