Maybe my last ever feedback received after 21 years, 100% FB, 205 followers, this says it all and i know i have been appreciated for my honesty and fair treatment of both buyers and sellers. I don't think i have ever left a neg for a seller even when they have made a mess of things. I have been that corner shop online which has disappeared in our towns and will continue to be that shop elsewhere.

This feedback says it all really about the downward slide of a once good site.

Never copy the opposition be better and fairer. And tell the truth when desperate people ask "what is going on" I've never seen so much lying and fudging, it's shocking.

I also never realised how much bitterness there was between private sellers and business, never thought about really until i finally came here in desperation trying to find out what was going on. Most of the money i have made has been spent on here and most of that with business

"Lovely cards at a very reasonable price. Swift postage, well packed and good communication. Sadly, another seller that appears to have left/ moved on from eBay no doubt as a result of the recent unfathomable changes. These sellers are a real loss to the eBay community."

I just listed a doll to see what is happening. The option to circumvent SD was still there but didn’t appear until I’d been looking at the postage ‘area’ for a minute. Then it was very glitchy and bounced back to SD only, asking me for parcel weight and dimensions (😡 I don’t pack until an item sells so I don’t know!) a couple of times before I managed to click through advanced options.

I’m another one who is stopping selling the moment I can’t control my own postage methods (scottish highlands, can only use RM click and drop and I’m not an employee and don’t like being treated like one) so it looks like I’m done now. I sold something last night so I know I can’t close the account yet. Sigh.

Extract from the post

"Today I got an email from EBAY stating that they have removed the option for sellers to buy postage themselves. From now on Ebay select the service & cost for the buyer. In order to send an item sellers have no choice but to use Ebays postage labels & drop the parcel at a post office or Drop Off Shop."

Did they slip mandatory SD in without telling anyone?

surely (!!!) they would have posted on announcements and e mailed more than one person if they have started it now?  They always put the previous changes up before they actually started.   Anyone else seen anything, i have not had an e mail about it.

The first of the month is usually when they publish their stunning new and perfect ideas so maybe we will know in a couple of days

i have a feeling (and i may well be wrong) but the comment about relief was not about you but about someone else who has apparently gone over to the other side!

Do they really?

When they said they were going to add BPF did they notify anyone which sections they were adding as they went?

I don't remember that. What I remember are users finding that information for themselves.

& technically, the official announcement from the CEO does cover it. Mandatory within Q1/Q2.

So no, I don't think they are big on transparency here.

The new rules are changing the need to give notice they are covering themselves for most circumstances

The business sellers i buy from are probably in other sites as well so i can still support them but Ebay will now lose out twice. I know that my fish food supplier is in Amazon £1.75 cheaper than here even though there is no buyer fee

eBay AI/database deciding an item weighs 1kg and overriding sellers choice of 2kg.

This is exactly what I thought would happen when they announced it. I bet the "big thinkers are using product weight and not accounting for packaging.

They have really messed this up and my gut says the "Funeral March" music has just started playing for them.

Anything fragile or valuable is now probably at risk because of their SIMPLE system.

@wintersdawn1

"My payment policy was 'immediate payment' for a buy it now, not only does the new listing tool ignore my policy but I can't see an option to select immediate payment."

Don't know if you saw any of my other recent posts, but when I saw SD was out in force today on Warhammer models I started looking at the listings.

Their Standard Delivery Tracked service is advertised on thumbnail listings as 2-3 day delivery. In the listings themselves they repeat it and give specific dates. BIN listings were being advertised for 2-3 April delivery.

But if the buyers don't have to pay immediately how and more importantly WHY are they advertising these delivery times.

Going off old seller performance parameters the above basically means private sellers are now shoe ins for late delivery complaints and almost certainly postage costs too.

So unless they change some more stuff alot of sellers are going to be losing their 100% feedbacks for no fault of their own.

Yes, I did see your other posts regarding the number of days a buyer has to pay vs how soon the buyer should expect delivery.

If I understand correctly ebay surely must make it clear that the delivery estimate is only from the time the buyer pays and not the end of a listing otherwise, as you say, sellers are going to be dealing with a lot of late delivery strikes.
