Maybe my last ever feedback received after 21 years, 100% FB, 205 followers, this says it all and i know i have been appreciated for my honesty and fair treatment of both buyers and sellers. I don't think i have ever left a neg for a seller even when they have made a mess of things. I have been that corner shop online which has disappeared in our towns and will continue to be that shop elsewhere.
This feedback says it all really about the downward slide of a once good site.
Never copy the opposition be better and fairer. And tell the truth when desperate people ask "what is going on" I've never seen so much lying and fudging, it's shocking.
I also never realised how much bitterness there was between private sellers and business, never thought about really until i finally came here in desperation trying to find out what was going on. Most of the money i have made has been spent on here and most of that with business
"Lovely cards at a very reasonable price. Swift postage, well packed and good communication. Sadly, another seller that appears to have left/ moved on from eBay no doubt as a result of the recent unfathomable changes. These sellers are a real loss to the eBay community."

They aren't making it clear.
I can look at an SD listing and see the exact date range the EDD's are saying for that moment in time, before payment.
When I looked earlier they were saying 2-3 April.
So receive the order today, get a label for say Royal Mail 48. If I post take it tomorrow, but if I miss the first collection from the post office the next one is at 2pm so it stays at the local depot overnight. If it's going long distance, it gets shipped to a national hub, usually 1 day and then out to local hub and then delivery.
So everything working well, maybe it gets there on the 3rd.
But that means we all have to do same/next day dispatch and then allowing us 3 days for turnaround is one more "false promise".
Never tried home collection myself but I do wonder if they all do next day/morning collection and if they don't I think that may be a dead duck.
You'd never get it delivered on time.

I guess another shafting for sellers from ebay. They expect us to be like robots and do everything exactly on time or else.
I did a royal mail collection the other day and I requested it on their website in the morning and they came the next day with the label to collect my parcel but they've probably got a cut off at some point during the day so then it won't come next day.

If I book with RM the previous evening, I always get offered a collection the next day, when my postie will normally be delivering mail anyway, so for me that's around midday. The RM site does warn you it may add a day onto their normal delivery objectives, I suppose because the postie has to take it back to HQ and get it into the system. In practice though the delivery seems pretty much as I'd expect if I took it to the village PO.
It's best not to leave it too close to midnight before booking. The RM website isn't always functioning AOK, but usually is.

I have recently had a problem the bank trying to stop a payment for something i can no longer use and the bot was brilliant i could tell it the problem and it said you need to speak to a person, that simple, because it was intelligent not like the half life things on here. If they wanted AI to take over they should have made certain that it worked right first. SD will be a disaster already prices are wrong, missing and the buyer will be charged extra if sellers do not allow both options

My main concern with sd is if the AI over-rides the weight/measurements I put in at listing and after the buyer pays ebay for the postage label and I receive it to find it isn't correct for the item I've got to send.

RM collect is fantastic on the odd time they have not been able to collect they disable payment on the site so that you can't buy the night before, maybe someone off sick or something, very rare and if it had delayed my posting i would have spoken to the buyer. Buy by midnight collect next day. They must be wondering what has happened poor chap must miss my posting

Cut off midnight for next day collection, and they collect "letters" which will no longer be available on SD

I love it can't to it any other way anyway.

Yes i see a lot of people having to pay for their own post because of mistakes. People will lose money or have to cancel. There will be neg feedbacks and low star ratings. I'm not risking that after 1/3 rd of my life with a good reputation on here

Yes, if the seller receives the wrong postage label from ebay and has to buy another, that comes out of their proceeds from the sale, making quite a dent in what they originally thought they'd get to keep (after ebay have finished with it of course!).
I guess they could just cancel the purchase but what a pita and as you say, probably lead to negative feedback etc.

Got an ebay mail this morning:
Starting from 15 April, Simple Delivery will be the only delivery method available for private sellers when listing most items. There’ll be a few exceptions, such as low-priced, bulky items, and local pick-up, which aren’t eligible for Simple Delivery.
Right, so all my items will languish on local collect only from then.

i am not even bothering trying that, will just leave either find somewhere else, car boot or return items to my relatives to sort out themselves. If i cannot send how i want then e bay will not get my custom either as a buyer or seller.
