Maybe my last ever feedback received after 21 years, 100% FB, 205 followers, this says it all and i know i have been appreciated for my honesty and fair treatment of both buyers and sellers. I don't think i have ever left a neg for a seller even when they have made a mess of things. I have been that corner shop online which has disappeared in our towns and will continue to be that shop elsewhere.

This feedback says it all really about the downward slide of a once good site.

Never copy the opposition be better and fairer. And tell the truth when desperate people ask "what is going on" I've never seen so much lying and fudging, it's shocking.

I also never realised how much bitterness there was between private sellers and business, never thought about really until i finally came here in desperation trying to find out what was going on. Most of the money i have made has been spent on here and most of that with business

"Lovely cards at a very reasonable price. Swift postage, well packed and good communication. Sadly, another seller that appears to have left/ moved on from eBay no doubt as a result of the recent unfathomable changes. These sellers are a real loss to the eBay community."

Parsley, the truth is that not many newcomers here haven't been hung out to dry by the few on here that think it belongs to them. I've been there too. I've asked to have my posts removed and any comments on them removed, it never happened. I've asked to have a separate private seller forum now the rules are so different where we can discuss how best to work with the new regulations, no can do. I've reported people for bullying, rudeness, and taking every thread off topic back to their personal vendettas. It makes no difference.

I come here to find out what other people are saying about regulation changes, issues, new features, other opinions and i find there is alot of knowledge to be found here. But mostly it takes me back to when i was at school and i couldn't sit with the cool kids because i didn't live in the right area.

Walking away is good for mental health, but also allows bullies to prevail. So now i just sit right down with them whether they like it or not.

Unfortunately, eBay is heading off in a different direction, which many of us older/traditional eBayers do not like. Feels like we are being edged, or shoved out...

Each new, 'exciting' change has made selling more time-consuming & overly complicated, and in many cases, no longer viable for small sellers. Bit by bit, it has become more of a chore to sell a few items, rather than an enjoyable pastime.

The BPF and Simple Delivery have pretty much put the tin lid on it...

@parsley2003  Good luck with new ventures 🍀 👍

I've checked out the site you are moving/have moved to.  I am not at all familiar with it.  I didn't even know it existed until a few days ago.  It states on their site:  "Buying and Selling Online Since 1999."  That's been a while.  Hmmm.

I had a browse around and I'm so used to eBay that ebid feels quite foreign and confusing.  I presume there must be a way to filter where one can buy from but I didn't figure it out.  Perhaps one has to sign up in order to get access to filters.  I clicked on a couple of items and one was in Canada and another in US.  Also, there were a lot of items with ridiculous prices on them!  £ 100+ for a book for instance that is really about £5-£10.

It seems to be a real bargain for a Platnium LIFETIME membership of only £69.99.  This is a one-off fee for however much you sell, so there will be no further fees for you or the buyer.  Well at least for you, for now.  I haven't read any FAQs yet, so I don't know what it's like with regard to returns or sellers/buyers getting ripped off by sellers/buyers and how these issues get resolved.

On the surface it seems like a fair-enough playing field.  The buyer pays nothing to "shop" there.  In your case with your particular membership, you pay a one-off fee and that's it, forever.  (Unless there is some fine, fine print in the contract.)   They even have a "transfer from eBay" app or something, so one could port over their listings.

Is there a catch?  Why isn't everybody over there?  Why sell here?  I haven't figured it out yet.  Ebay has a way bigger market perhaps?

As for the Hatfields vs The McCoys, uh, I mean Business vs Private sellers, yes, there is some bitterness for sure.  Just recently I read about some BUSINESS seller who was apparently asleep when they made a listing and sold an item for "10X LESS" than what it was worth.  So they came in here and vented their anger/jealously at the PRIVATE seller who bought it and supposedly is now trying to flog it for its actual value.  The business wants to stick it to the private buyer/seller who probably has no idea that what they are doing is "against the rules".  There are a lot of them.  I really don't think they know the difference.

But there's a little REPORT button where one can sound the alarm!!!   They do the work for the company.  Ebay could very easily employ methods to catch all the rascals and the real criminals.  IF THEY REALLY WANTED TO.

eBay pits the Business against the Private via the fees they charge and how they resolve disputes.

Hopefully you'll still keep your eBay account open and will pop back to let us know how you're getting on @parsley2003 . I agree that the new buyer fee has impacted low value collectable items big time, to the point that what gave eBay it's unique selling point - a site with fab collectible items that made it so interesting and special - has disappeared almost overnight. I've no idea why eBay didn't just have a buyer fee on items over a certain amount, say £5. A puzzling move.

They should never have had the +75p fee, on their buyers premium. if they did should have had some sort of micro fee of say 10P for items up to a fiver as Vy says.

Good luck @parsley2003

I can't leave yet unless they ban me (please) as i am still owed money for the listing i was stupid enough to do as a test and did not send tracked because i'm honest and now have to wait 2 weeks for, but no more listing "Kat" one of our CS has finally admitted that mandatory SD will definitely be happening, maybe as early as next week I would imagine (and people still believe that invoicing will come back)

The last straw has broken this camel's back

It's not just that it's everything else as well. SD will mean no more combining even postage. Ebay are still desperately hiding that fee within our prices, while Vinted openly advertise it on TV they just carry on with Selling is Free without mentioning that you can't sell anything anyway. Delcampe have had to clearly show the buyer fee as separate now (at first they tried to hide it) so a complaint has been upheld somewhere.

The real killer is AI replacing the humans here. I see Ebay US laid off a thousand people last year. To save money the exciting tings they have promised this year will be more AI

Yes heading for the big time and you need money a lot of money to sponsor a Formula 1 team, Love Island and nice days out for business people at Royal Ascot 😉

They are run like this once was small human team, no AI, yes it's quiet but i have no choice so it's the only place available and if enough go there it might get busier. No buyer fee, post as you want, no business/private. Nobody has heard of them because they don't advertise and they really should right now.

I'm not transferring from Ebay god knows what they would do to us if we did (new rules 17th March no transferring listings or feedback to another site-i hope everyone is reading these rules which cover Ebay for everything as us for nothing)

People that sell collectables that have been there for years are doing well or they would have moved here.

I'm not running from the bullies i'm refusing to cheat people. Sad i know but i have principles for life not just when it suits. If i'm running it's from devious liars, greed and the misery caused by it. I feel sorry for Business they are treated like dirt here too people at the top playing their little games pitting us against each other changing things for the sake of it, anything goes to keep the shareholders happy.

Can't say I'm surprised to see this post from you and I totally understand why.

Best of luck to you!

As for closing your account here you will probably have to wait for the chargeback period to run out on your last sold item. Vague memory says 6 months, but don't hold me to that.

& I saw you say that kat confirmed mandatory SD. Do you remember where you saw that because I missed it.

Sorry to see you leaving but, although a long shot, maybe keep your ebay account in case things improve on here in the future and ebay realise what a mess-up they've made of everything.

I know it's like Royston Vasey "you can never leave" 😂

Was a reply sort of truthful, i've even pasted it on here somewhere not sure where now. She and the others have totally ignored anything i say because the truth hurts
