Leaving

 Maybe my last ever feedback received after 21 years, 100% FB, 205 followers, this says it all and i know i have been appreciated for my honesty and fair treatment of both buyers and sellers. I don't think i have ever left a neg for a seller even when they have made a mess of things. I have been that corner shop online which has disappeared in our towns and will continue to be that shop elsewhere.

This feedback says it all really about the downward slide of a once good site.

Never copy the opposition be better and fairer. And tell the truth when desperate people ask "what is going on" I've never seen so much lying and fudging, it's shocking.

I also never realised how much bitterness there was between private sellers and business, never thought about really until i finally came here in desperation trying to find out what was going on. Most of the money i have made has been spent on here and most of that with business

"Lovely cards at a very reasonable price. Swift postage, well packed and good communication. Sadly, another seller that appears to have left/ moved on from eBay no doubt as a result of the recent unfathomable changes. These sellers are a real loss to the eBay community."

@manyjamjar

Possibly.

Posts here from the last few days make it look like it's near now. Options to circumvent Simple Delivery look like they are being removed/switched off.

Loads of posts asking for help as they can't find options outside of SD.

People giving suggestions and coming back later to say one of them isn't working now.

Re: Leaving

kat@ebay stated on 28th March that it would be mandatory "eventually". That doesn't sound like it's rolling out on Tuesday.

Re: Leaving

Well I am that business seller who was certainly not asleep when she sold it…it wasn’t in great condition. Hence my price.

I am certainly not jealous however you may read it. But point is as you obviously know is a private seller who according to the terminology of being a private is to sell on their own personal possessions, not be a business in disguise.

I haven’t created this division of private/business. I’ve never attacked anyone posting on this forum for being a business in disguise.

You can’t have one group of people paying for others. I pay to sell and I am paying fees when I sell and if I want to buy off a private seller, I also have to pay another fee.

So yes I feel I have a right to make a point about it without recourse from anyone…thankyou

Re: Leaving

If eBay cannot confirm the date of SD going mandatory I'm ok with that but what I'd like to know whether or not live listings would change with SD option.

As and when SD is implemented, can eBay confirm that they will allow live listings run its course ??

I agree with your post.

You were complaining about the actions of a single user and I certainly don't remember you as one of the regular private seller bashers here.

Ironically the user you are replying to is guilty of the same thing they accused you of, inverted.

Re: Leaving

@manyjamjar

Well considering how BPF was implemented I'd doubt that.

I remember seeing some of my bookmarked auctions spending over 6 days listed and in their last few hours BPF activated on them.

Obviously that was when BPF was being rolled out through categories.

Again, read the posts/threads here and see how many people are saying there postage options are being changed by eBay whilst active.

There are loads of them including GSP settings.

@andha-21

So if a live listing is changed to SD postage, how will eBay know what size the item is ??

Re: Leaving

@manyjamjar

Going from a combination of the way they originally advertised it and a single post I remember which described the process, it looks like an AI system/database with weights is in control.

There was someone that sold a Switch game, SD was active and off memory they weren't aware.

SD chose a package size of 100g, which based off the breakdowns from the original post and replies looked like 4g more than the weight of the game.

Re: Leaving

Thankyou.
It’s saddens me when people just come in for an attack when they don’t know that other person or what has really gone on…

Shame they couldn’t actually reply to my thread rather than try to slate me in a different post. Were they hoping I would read it….probably…

Re: Leaving

My experience of people, apathy rules.

In all likelihood they don't care whether you read it or not.

They just wanted to be "clever" for a minute.

Re: Leaving

Can't be sure but 1st is the start of the 2nd Q of year. They will just spring it on us without warning but the signs are there it's getting more difficult to do anything now. I don't want to sell and have to cancel because i can't post it

It seems to be a real bargain for a Platnium LIFETIME membership of only £69.99.  This is a one-off fee for however much you sell, so there will be no further fees for you or the buyer..

That's not quite true.  Even on that level (I have it myself) there's a 2% final value fee.  Not including postage, if I recall correctly.  For people selling postcards, stamps, craft materials and other low value items it's a bargain.  And @theelench reckons he does well with art deco glass.

@parsley2003   I believe @bittyboy101  went there, but with a different moniker.

I still think many people are going rabid over the issues here, unnecessarily so.  If you pour Dettol on a bandage for my grazed knee I'm not going to start screaming until you apply it!  I really think that when the situation here becomes insufferable I shall still not close my account, I'll just cancel my listings or change them all to local collection.  Then I'll wait to see if ebay wakes up and smells the coffee, rolling back to a better situation in 6 months or however long it takes.

Disclosure: I have never bought shares in ebay!  🙂  If I knew how to short sell they'd be high on my list!  🙂

Re: Leaving

I adapted somewhat to the BPF and the delayed payments but I think I know enough about SD to be rightfully rabid.   According to Kat, it will become mandatory, so I guess I'm in a pre-SD rabid-moaning stage.

p.s. sorry to hear about your knee 🤣

Is that the one I'm kneeling on when I pray that ebay will relent?  🙂

Re: Leaving

I'm seeing lots of Simple Delivery rolling out in Warhammer models today. They all say 2-3 day delivery on the initial thumbnail and when you open the listing BIN items are saying 2-3 April for Delivery.

Absolute bulltrite!

Telling sellers they have 3 days to send but telling buyers they will receive it in 3.
