Is it possible to contact a user that rejected an offer?

Hi,

I am selling an item. I had 1 watcher and ebay allowed me to send an offer. I sent my offer and that offer was declined but in the text message accompanying the declined offer the buyer countered. Note this was not a formal counter offer but a declined offer with a text nessage saying, your offer was too high but I could do £x.

I can't find a way to let the buyer know I would accept the price they offered informally over text.

The username is mostly blocked out. Like b***p or whatever.

Am I completely out of luck?

Thanks.

You already used up your 3 offers?

If not, you may still be able to counter back with the amount they said.

You should be able to see the buyers eBay ID.

Click on the number in brackets next to it, go to their feedback profile page (the old classic view) and use the 'Contact member' link there to send them a message asking them to submit another offer.

Bear in mind the Buyer Protection Fee. If you send an offer, it does not include the BPF, if the buyer sends the offer, the BPF is included. I think.

Have I got that right?!

There is no number next to the name unfortunately. I am using the mobile app if it makes a difference.

A 'workaround' would be to reduce the price of your item to a price close to what the buyer offered.

It must be in their 'watched items' list and I believe messages are sent to watchers when a seller reduces a price.

If they don't buy it, a lower price may attract another buyer anyway,

If they sent a message via eBay Messages, you should be able to see their name right at the top left

of the message.

I know it took me a while to find the clickable name link, after the new messaging layout was introduced. I just couldn't spot it at the top of the page. I'm viewing on a pc, so it might not be in the same place on the app.

What's the point of those great big coloured dots with the initial of the sender, if you can't click on them?!
