I have not had any discounts on sellers fees since February, yet friends and family are still receiving them. Is anyone having the same experience?

The February Club as we are known have gone through the process of having accounts checked and no reason for the promo drought. Always told they will get an offer soon...which never comes and constant excuses. They have to settle with discrimination and being fobbed off by ebay techs. As to the loss of paypal sellers cannot judge if their lack of sales is a knock on affect of the paypal 'fun money' drying up and people reluctant to delve into bank accounts to pay for something maybe spotted on a whim.

I suppose if people can open multiple eBay accounts they can open multiple bank accounts too, and use one for eBay sales, link that to PayPal, and then use that as 'fun money'. Based on the way people are being forced to pay by card more often, and with contactless or paying by phone becoming more common, I doubt that has any impact on sales (people can still pay by PayPal, and Apple Pay on eBay).
remember also, these promotions are just that. Promotions. They're not some legally binding entitlement. EBay are not in any way obligated to offer these promotions. While I would agree on the surface there appears to be a lack of fairness, there's no requirement for eBay to be fair, not that I can tell. I'm not saying it's fair, I'm saying it's perfectly within eBay's rights to do as they please (life isn't fair). This is the price we pay for eBay's virtual monopoly.

Check your seller promotions section. I usually get an email and a message from eBay inviting me to accept the 80% off final fees. But after not getting one today I was just glancing over what I had sold and right next to where it says I have a 100 free listening it's says 80 %, off for this weekend

no email or message but found the offer here in selling promotions for this weekend.
Sneaky way of doing it I guess

I've received bi-weekly promos for years. I was worried when I didn't get one two weeks ago and was anxious about this weekend.
I was worried to still not see anything on the eBay homepage from midnight, so I went to hotdealsuk where they generally post the latest links. Clicked on the 80% off link and it said expired 😕 I had lost all hope then but found the 70% off link, that one worked.
Better than nothing, phew !
I wonder though if I should have waited until an invite showed in the sellers tab on the app, and maybe that would have been 80% ?
Anyway, cautiously optimistic that things will be back to normal from now on, but not very reassured either. I did get in touch with CS a week ago btw, they assured me my account was in good standing.

I am a Private seller..(2007. ) 100% feedback I get these 80% offers appprox monthly..Never had any trouble Problem with these 80% variable fees is if you edit the slightest thing on the item being sold you loose the 80% offer off that particular item . Not sure what happens if you send offer to a buyer.

Be careful.
I did that and went over the 90 day delete on over 100 items.
Now I need to make sure they are all backed up elsewhere.

I edit my listings quite a lot (adjusting price mostly, I like quick sales so usually tweak if necessary) and don't seem to lose my promotion.
As far as I know send offer does not affect the promotion either, certainly never read anything to support that and I just sold something using send offer that seems to have qualified for 80% off FVF.

I know my response is late but just for the record I thought I would mention that my partner was not receiving the offers last year yet I was...I simply forwarded the email with offer to her which allowed her to activate it and create listings. Maybe you could ask your family/frinds to do the same with you?

Well its about the one year anniversary for the 'February Club' for 'random' non receipt of selling fees offers we will get 'soon'. I cant even check the actual date the last promo was last year as the ability to see past promos tab has disappeared from the promo window. This does not bide well for the future. I think we can now just settle for a have and have not culture with some sellers getting preference over others despite no issue with accounts. Happy Anniversary and Chinese New Year.

Has anyone received 80% FVF offer today? I have not had the offer for 4-5 weeks now

I got the 70% fvf offer.
Never had the 80% one.
Some were bragging they got the 100% fvf offer and no insertion fees last week which runs for 2 months.

If you're selling few items regularly and your account picked up in the random scanning in the search of type of seller verification, your account will be treated as business account and you will no longer receive selling fee offer as normal private sellers do.
This is new thing in the ebay.
Just moved to Facebook and do some paid promotions to reach people.
Facebook is the future ebay and it reaches out people better than ebay.

I had always thought the promotional discount offers were, whether rightly or wrongly, only given to Private Sellers. Has this now been extended?
19-04-2024 9:09 AM
@Anonymous In theory, you are right. The offer is only sent to members with private accounts.
Shockingly (hard to believe I know), there are members who are clearly running a business, have a name and comments on their profile which clearly indicate they are running a business, have dozens of brand new items for sale, and have a 'no returns' policy which denies buyers their legal right to return purchased items for any reason, who are registered as private sellers.
And some of these members brazenly and blatantly add their comments to threads like these.
I won't write any more or I will get my hand slapped.

I fully understand that any offer given to Private Sellers will annoy or anger the disadvantaged Business Sellers as they do not receive any similar offers at all.
Equally, as promotional offers are still given, genuine Private Sellers who do not receive any (I do not) will be annoyed or angry if these pseudo-private sellers, who abuse the system, still receive them.
It does stick in one's craw when they then bleat how unfair it all is and have the gall to give advice to genuine Private Sellers.
