Apparently it is the sellers fault if a buyer clicks the BUY IT NOW button but fails to pay

I have just been the unfortunate victim of a buyer clicking the BUY IT NOW button and then not paying, in fact not even contacting me whatsoever.

Checking the buyers 3 previous reviews, they say he always does this but they have had to give him a positive review even though their comments are totally negative. Apparently sellers are not allowed to elave negative reviews anymore to protect the buyer. So the buyer looks like he is getting lots of positive reviews and can perpetuate his idiocy.

What is even worse is that when I contacted Ebay support, I am told I should really pay for the listing costs but on this one occasion they will afford me the courtesy of refunding me the listing and buy it now costs.  So EBAY act as if they are doing me a favour!  I opened my account 20 years ago, I dont think I will be selling anything more on Ebay.

in certain cases you can leave negative review if you wait long enough. ebay is all but dead for these events.

There is a require immediate payment option you can choose when listing,

This will stops all buyers clicking BIN and nor paying, the listing only ends when payments received, stops the timewasters

Report the buyer for your and all previous issues and leave the feedback like the others Ebay might do something about the seller in  the future but you will never know

Downside of online selling, dont fret it, forget it

Hello Chezz,  there is a box you can tick on listings for 'immediate payment required on But it Now sales'.

I'd tick that and stop anyone doing it to you again!

Seller's have been unable to leave neg feedbacks for about 15 years or thereabouts, and leaving neg comments on a green dot is actually 'punishable' by ebay (if a buyer reports you for it...)

As you have noticed, green dot with neg comment just make it look like the buyer has lots of good feedback, so it's a silly thing to do in more than one way.

If all those other sellers had waited four days and canceled as a non payer then they would not have been able to buy your item.
make sure you cancel it as non payment and put them on your blocked buyers list. Do not be tempted to leave feedback as leaving a neg on a positive is not allowed and could get you a defect on your account.

blame all the sellers who broke eBay rules and left false positives instead of giving this buyer an unpaid strike.

You can never leave negative feedback for buyers.

You can only leave positive, there is no other option, and leaving negative comments with a green 'positive dot' is breaking Ebay rules regarding feedback abuse.

This is the Ebay line:

As a seller, you can only leave positive feedback for buyers. If you think a buyer has breached any of our policies, please report a buyer - opens in new window or tab to let us know. Bear in mind that leaving a positive fee...
