Hi, I am trying to purchase royal mail postage through eBay but when I click purchase postage label I get this message "Something went wrong and we were not able to generate the label" is there a problem or am I doing something wrong?

Royal Mail's Click & Drop website is down and has been for several hours at least. I last used it on Friday morning but at 8:30 this morning it was down.

Unfortunately this website has been a pain over the last couple of months so it is anyone's guess when it will be up and running again. It's a case of trying it every hour or so.

Issues at Royal Mail are now resolved.

I'm able to print labels again.

Just sold something and again buyer has managed to buy with Royal Mail label and guess what - still won’t generate label so yet another order I have to cancel.

Ive had this issue 4 times the last month and its appeared agin. Each time I’m having to explain to support what the issue. That’s a 30 minute conversation each time convincing them it’s an eBay issue. Clearly support haven’t a clue this glitch is an exists or how to fix it. Some time they resolve it right away. Sometimes it takes days and I have to buy labels else manually with RM. This thread is over a year old and there is still no fix.

Hello, I am getting the same error and can't print labels. Checking the other posts, it seems for some people it has taken months and still not clear if the issue is resolved. What should we do?

This is not a solution. I have refereshed pages. Logged out and in, switched to FireFox, switched to many other broswers, used VPN, on both mobile and desktop and I keep getting the same error. Reading the messages on ebay community this problem seems to have been going on for quite some times now and ebay doesn't seem to care about it at all, while they have tied the sellers to their own shipping arrangement. It's a disrespectful to both sellers and the buyers. I have contacted ebay five times and they dont tell me exactly what the problem is and when it will be resolved. Very disappointing. I respect my customers more than ebay respecting their community and I will post their items at my own cost. But it is scary how ebay has been treating their community.

The original report on this thread was resolved. However it is an intermittent issue that has occurred again. There is a current open ticket with tech for it. I will add your account to it and once they confirm the fix I will update the thread. I understand the frustration with it and it is being worked on between eBay and the courier site to resolve as soon as possible.

This has been going on for many months now and worse, seems the issue returns every now and then. eBay should at least make sure sellers have other options for postage, if their system doesn't work. Sellers are locked into ebay system, which has proven to be unreliable. It is not about sellers or buyers frustration; it is about a functionality that is fundmental to the whole ebay website. They should be more worried about this than the sellers or buyers.
