I have been on ebay for 16 years now. 2800 feedback at 100%, I have a system that works, that I have perfected, that I have invested in.
Ebay now steam roll their way into my postage system/strategy and dictate how I have to post my items.
I have been on the fence for a little while now contemplating leaving ebay (in particulalry with the buyers protection fee saga), but the forcing of simple delivery I am going to walk away.
Its not my first choice, having spoken to a customer service and begged them to remove simple delivery from my account, but I am told it is now the default method as a personal seller and sorry but thats the way it is now bucko!
Thanks ebay, you were a great platform for me over the years. Unfortunately you've pushed too hard this time, and its not working in my favour anymore.
I've been on the fence with Vinted and Etsy over the years, now its time to see if the grass is greener over there.
All the best,

Yes, what a truly ridiculous situation that there is no large letter option available under 1Kg!
Who benefits except Ebay & the courier companies?
Buyers pay £2.70 instead of £1.55 = a bigger slice for Ebay & an end for all low value item sellers.
Pure greed...

Just realised there is no option for a letter or free postage? £2.70 minimum charge for simple delivery.
Utter madness!

Probably a bigger slice than many people realise.
Ebay will have access to Royal Mail's business rates for postage (they may possibly even be getting better rates than those under their specific agreement with RM). The normal business postage rates are typically two thirds or less of the standard rates charged to personal customers, although direct comparisons are difficult because the weight categories for parcels from business customers are completely different from the ones offered to personal/retail customers.
If you are interested, I would suggest looking up RM's business postal charges - if you were not previously aware of them, it will be an eye-opener!

Thanks. I have tried to have a look at Royal Mail, but unless I register as a business account, I can't see any details of their business prices.
