So. Due to vet bills I'm selling off my retro collection. The issue is, some of the items are sealed so I can't check they actually work, they are worth more sealed. Recently had a 2DS returned as upon opening they discovered none of the buttons working. Fair enough, I had to accept the return and gave them a full refund despite them having ripped the original sealed box it came in. I opened it all up, reseated all the cables and sure enough, still doesn't work. Anyway. So I've now revised my other sealed listings so that they are now auctions instead and put in the description "No returns accepted unfortunately. Purchase at your own risk as this is factory sealed so I've not tested." Is this valid? If they open another console and find it not working, can I be held responsible again? I know for good business you should really give a refund but I'm not a business. I'm a private seller trying to get enough money together for vet bills. Just curious if another sealed console is opened and faulty, can I reject any request for a refund due to stating they take the risk in the description? Obviously I really hope it was a one off and none of the others are in this state. But I'd rather not have negative feedback from rejecting a return when I stated I can't accept returns.
