Buyer can't leave feedback?

Hi,

I sold an item which I delivered to my buyers friend and he paid me cash. Upon my return I marked it as dispatched and paid and left feedback. I emailed the buyer to say i'd dropped it off with his friend. He had got it but said that the site wouldnt let him leave feedback? At my end, it is also showing buyer not completed checkout? What more should I do or does he need to do something from his end? I have done similar transactions this way with no problem.

You have to finalise the transaction to show the item is sold before the buyer can leave feedback.

So, either go right of the item sold to More Actions, and there select Mark as Paid, and Mark as Dispatched.

Or, if you are on the Seller Hub page, go to Orders>> Awaiting Postage >> click on the item, and you will see those instructions top left of the page.

If your buyer then still has issues leaving eBay,   as today is eBay's maintenance day, so many things become impossible from time to time,  politely ask your buyer to try again later to day or   even tomorrow.

As I said in my original post. I have marked it as despatched, also as paid and left feedback. The site is still saying buyer hasn’t completed checkout What do we do??
This has been tried several times over the week so its nothing to do with maintenance.
I have done this same procedure several times before with no problem.

Not sure what the ' buyer not completed checkout' then, is referring to. Have you checked the payment is it pending, then if you are under Managed Payments it can take a week to clear. If payment has cleared, then this may be a new notification that the buyer has not given feedback, which is voluntary anyway. If you have payment cleared, and you have marked it paid and dispatched there is nothing more for you or buyer to do. As said feedback is voluntary

Hi,
All sorted now, apparently it was because he paid cash, even though I have done similar transactions before. The system didn’t know he’d paid even though I said he had and so it said buyer hasn’t completed checkout and wouldn’t let him leave feedback. After a long conversation with eBay this is now sorted and he has left feedback. Guess it was a glitch in the system!
