I was given the run around by the seller and by Ebay - now I am out of pocket by £70+. No appeal on a final decision, as the item was returned ONE DAY late by Hermes. Contacted the seller, who denied receiving the returned item. Sent him proof that he had received it back.  No response. No recourse to recover my £70+ taken by the seller. A wrong item was delivered and I started a return request. The seller then arranged collection as postage label was insufficient and has received the item back  but has said that as I started a case with ebay they cannot refund me and as I don't have a tracking number I seem unable to get in touch with ebay to resolve this. Hi!   So this is a pre-emptive question and there might not even be an issue.  I posted an item last week via royal mail, they were unable to deliver the parcel so it was taken to the depot for the buyer to rearrange delivery or collect in person.  It's been over a week now and they've not collected yet (they have 18 days so still plenty of time!).  I've sent them a message to let them know where the parcel is but I've not had a reply but the buyer has a few bad reviews for lack of communication so I'm not holding my breath for a response.   My question is this - if they don't collect and the parcel is returned to me I will obviously either offer to resend it if they pay postage (I didn't charge postage the first time) or refund them the full amount if they no longer want it.  Do I just lose out on all of the eBay fees though?  On the help pages it says you can only cancel an order if it's not been dispatched, and I'm sure cancelling would be the only way to get my fees back.  Anyone got any ideas? ... I know ebay have now introduced the direct payment system but thought that Paypal was still an optional payment method for buyers. My last purchase checkout has ebay asking for my card details with no paypal payment option. Going into my account details I cannot even select paypal as a payment method. This removes the protection provided by paypal and any payments below £100.00 are not covered on a card should there be a problem. Should there now be a problem with a transaction and ebay find in favour of the seller there is now no recourse via a Paypal claim. No paypal for me means I don’t buy from ebay. ... View more
