Final Decision by Ebay not accepted by buyer - no recourse for refund

I was given the run around by the seller and by Ebay - now I am out of pocket by £70+.

No appeal on a final decision, as the item was returned ONE DAY late by Hermes.

Contacted the seller, who denied receiving the returned item.

Sent him proof that he had received it back.  No response.

No recourse to recover my £70+ taken by the seller.

Advice from anyone regarding how to proceed from here would be welcome.

eBay give generous time limits for returns,because you were late returning it eBay will automatically close the case.

However if you paid via Paypal you can try to open a case with them enter the return tracking details and escalate the case after 2 days and before 20 days or this will also time out.
