Item not collected from Post Office

Hi!

So this is a pre-emptive question and there might not even be an issue.  I posted an item last week via royal mail, they were unable to deliver the parcel so it was taken to the depot for the buyer to rearrange delivery or collect in person.  It's been over a week now and they've not collected yet (they have 18 days so still plenty of time!).  I've sent them a message to let them know where the parcel is but I've not had a reply but the buyer has a few bad reviews for lack of communication so I'm not holding my breath for a response.

My question is this - if they don't collect and the parcel is returned to me I will obviously either offer to resend it if they pay postage (I didn't charge postage the first time) or refund them the full amount if they no longer want it.  Do I just lose out on all of the eBay fees though?  On the help pages it says you can only cancel an order if it's not been dispatched, and I'm sure cancelling would be the only way to get my fees back.  Anyone got any ideas?

Best to wait until buyer contacts you, never chase them.

If they want item resent, they need to pay postage again.

If they open item not received case, you will need to refund through case to get fees credited.
