I bought car that was mis-advertised. My ebay account now says I cancelled it but I didn't

So I bought a car from a business that occasionally sells cars on ebay. It had a number of faults that only became apparent when I drove it home. My problem right now is that my ebay account says that I cancelled the order and so it does not show up in my purchases any more. I did not cancel it - I paid for it and now own it. Since it no longer appears on my account as a purchase I cannot contact ebay about it. I have no idea why ebay thinks I cancelled the order and there is no obvious way to let them know this has happened since the item isn't classed as a purchase any more and so has no contact options.

I don't think the ebay MBG and 'buyer protection' applies to vehicles the way it does to other items?

Try asking on the ebay 'motors' board....

There is no buyer protection on eBay for purchasing cars.

If it's a business seller you could try the few remaining people who work for Trading Standards.

Best thing would be to check out how these things work before throwing your money away.

There is no warranty on cars.

You should have taken it for a test drive long enough to see if the head gasket has gone and see what other problems there were.

It is possible that the seller marked the sale as 'cancelled' rather than 'paid' which is why it doesn't show on your account as a purchase.

However, as advised, motor vehicles are not covered by the Ebay Money Back Guarantee and this is between you and the seller.

Contacting Ebay would just get the same response as the replies you have already received.
