We have noticed a sudden decline in sales and since last week we are on Zero.
Has anyone else noticed this issue and is this related to any new changes by Ebay.
What happened to our once best selling platform.

I forgot to add, that if you want that change to happen, then you should be trading (and yes, you ARE trading) as a business.
Currently, you are breaking consumer law and trading illegally.
Perhaps you want to mention that to your lawyer when you sue Ebay.....
Seriously, you are even stealing all of the images from Shein and places like it. Or as a private individual, are you paying models to show off your own personal items?

Such a joke that shops like yours are run as "private" when it is so obviously a business.

Since the sales tax was introduced by Ebay my sales have been zero. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot Ebay, mine to and others.

And what sales tax is this?
Ebay do not charge a sales tax.
I presume that your moaning at the BPF. Though I really do not understand why.
That fee, is LESS than what was paid previously! It has changed where the fees are paid. ie directly by the customer, instead of included in the selling price.
Aside from which, looking at your sales, you have barely sold anything in the prior months anyway, so hardly surprising that you have a gap of a couple of weeks between sales. I can see that you have actually had longer prior to this.

I find the BPF kickback baffling, especially considering the zero fee period was so brief. Why would an online marketplace business let you sell for free?

I don't get it at all myself.
I think at the root of it is simple misunderstanding and stupidity.
"It was free!" Now I have to charge less because they added a fee..... What????
They just can't see that it's actually cheaper to sell now, ignoring the free period, than it was before.

I believe the word you are looking for is "fee". Tax is paid to the government.
16-05-2025 6:01 PM
lol, is that the best that you can come up with?
As per the prior poster, taxes can only be charged by the government.
Unless of course Ebay is now our government, I think you might have that slightly wrong.
Never mind the fact that you ignored the rest of what was said.

The BPF does work out cheaper on average than the old seller fees as far as i have seen but it appears to be having an adverse psychological affect on buyers when they see strange looking prices which includes a buyer fee that makes them think they are paying over the odds.
There are many negative trustpilot reviews from buyers about the addition of this new buyer fee..
A savvy seller would have left their selling fee inclusive prices unaltered during the real short free to sell period and then adjusted them accordingly when the BPF kicked in whilst also ticking the seller pays BPF box which would have placated the buyer and still had everyone paying less.
There really was no legitimate reason for the change though as it's just an unnecessary smoke and mirrors shuffling of fees from seller to buyer to hoodwink and attract new sellers to fall for ebays amazing it's free to sell sales push..

For our entire lives we have been accustomed to £3.99 or £3.95 or £4.....Now we get £4.27...and our brains just short circuit.

Yeah the new buyers protection fee has killed 90% of my trade. Ebays new policy is terrible, someone should be flogged

Its just too complicated now, too many options, too many opportunities for it to go wrong
Needs simplifying with less options, you list you sell you send you get paid
Same for buying, all i want is whats been offered
I mean no one else buys or sells like ebay does so why do this??
Its become my 3rd choice now after Amazon and FB, if that, for what i buy as cant be relied upon
Promoting listings to window lickers doesnt pay anyone, same for buyers premium protection
Been stung on a couple of items where 'Buyer pays return postage' so now i look to avoid it as someones making money off this

Sales are pretty much none existent.
when I do get a sale, any profit goes to ebay for their fees and RM postage

There have been some bad months on ebay, but nothing quite like this May. I've not seen anything like this in nearly 22 years of selling.
22-05-2025 5:39 PM
Crazy what is going on !?
22-05-2025 5:40 PM
It’s so demoralising 😞

I didn't think May could be any worse than April. How wrong was I. I will be nearly 90% down on April which was a bad month. No one responds to offers, no matter how large the discount. Anything new added just get put on watch.
I normally cover shop fees in about 3 days. This month I will be paying out my own money to cover the fees. That hasn't happened in years.

Not being able to cover shop fees has never happened to me, but if May continues as it is it will be an unwanted first.
