Hello
Why have all my eBay listings now have VAT added to them ? I am based in the uk and only sell my own personal used items.
Thank you

Hi @gsxrijc ,
I completely understand the frustration with it. Your account was included with the reports but we don't have a timeframe on the fix as of yet. We are continuing to follow up with tech on this and pushing to get it resolved as soon as possible. Once we get confirmation of a fix the thread on the tech board will be updated and I'll let you know here as well.
Thank you,
Kat

The way around this that i have potentially solved and has worked so far but obviously wont be possible if you have thousands of items listed is the following :
Revise all your listings, you dont have to change prices etc as your original price should appear in the relist format. The 20% only seems to appear when you see your listings from a buyers point of view. Scroll down your item in relist format then click on relist with displayed fees or it may just say " save it " . Give it a few mins or more to update and the 20% should have been removed from the listing and postal price

Hello Kat,
I am facing the same issue. I have thousands of listings and I am not sure how many are impacted but it seems that it is a big percentage. As you understand this is impacting my sales in a negative way.
The listing has 20% VAT set in the VAT field but eBay still adds 20% on top of that. If the VAT is set at 0% the VAT is still being added.
The correct price is shown in my Active listings tab but once I click on the listing the price has changed.
Who do I contact to solve this ASAP?
Thank you

To be fair, this is taking a while to fix, and whilst you would like sellers and buyers to have patience waiting for the fix, sellers get slapped at every opportunity if they do something wrong.
And why is the word 'sorry' always missing from these 'updates'?

Hi @kempseykate ,
Of course we apologise for the inconvenience this is having for our members. Waiting on fixes can be very frustrating which I understand. We have escalated as I have mentioned and are pushing for the fix.
We don't have an exact timeframe but know that it is being worked on.
Once there is an update on it being resolved we will update the community.
Thank you,
Kat

Kat, there is work around being offered on the boards which involves a bulk relisting of all listings. Once done it appears to get rid of the VAT issue.
I don't know if that helps, but this issue is causing a lot of difficulties, has been ongoing for weeks, and is actually putting members in a difficult position legally. It is illegal for a non VAT registered entity to have any mention of VAT on their listings, let alone saying it will be charged.

Thanks for that @papso22 . I have seen that workaround being posted on alot of the threads which is good. I appreciate its not ideal for those with thousands of listings but it is a workaround none the less.
Right now we are pushing for the overall fix and as soon as there is confirmation of that we will let everyone know.
Thank you,
Kat

I have only just noticed but this has happened to some of my listings also.
I am a private seller, selling only personal items.
What happens if the buyer purchases at this now inflated price?
When is this going to be sorted out?

I am. I just added an item, and it's 20% more expensive to buy.
eBay support are adamant that Vat must be charged. But I'm a private seller, selling just 1 item. I am not Vat registered. This seems wrong.
