I have a buyer who requested a return, however they had admitted using it and making alterations and then decided they didnt want it anymore. Every email they sent they made more and more exagerated claims on the condition of the item. Ebay agreed and said the buyer had a history of this, they also said not to commincate with the buyer because they had history of being aggresisve and abusive. They then advised me not to accept the return and let the time elapse and they will close the case in my favour. A few days later they then sent me an email saying they had closed the case in my favour, however they then refunded the buyer. I contacted them, they elplained that the email was sent in error and I should have accepted the return. Being very frustrated I decided to leave contacting the buyer to arrange a courier to pick up the item for a week or 2. Work was busy and I ended up forgetting about it for 5 weeks. I contacted the buyer, they then replied saying "I had forefitted ownership of the item and they had given it away" I explained they cannot give someones belongings away and we have engaged into a contract under UK Consumer Law. I contacted eBay who where less than helpful, they said it is outside the 60 day period since the sale went through so it isnt anything they would deal with. As of today, they buyer is still hasnt returned the item and is refusing to continueing the rhetoric that I do not own it anymore. Has anybody got any similar experience?
