Hello. I listed an item as 'Collection in Person' only but included in the description that buyers could contact me to discuss a courier (admittedly I didn't write BEFORE BIDDING!). A buyer has bid last minute and won and is now asking for a courier quote.
I have taken a price from Parcelforce via Parcel 2 Go, this was £10.56 but I rounded up to £11 as I also have to package it all up now. I don't like using Hermes or DX due to previous bad experiences so ignored their cheaper quotes.
The seller says this is too expensive and she bought a similar item recently and was only charged £7.50. The screenshot she sent looks like the seller used Packlink/Ebay delivery (not sure which courier). Buyer now wants to arrange own courier but refuses to pay me anything for packaging costs. I don't really want to take this route as I know it opens me up to problems if something goes wrong. Buyer doesn't understand what my problem is and is being quite rude!
I think I could still cancel this order as she hasn't paid yet, selecting 'Problem with Buyer's address'. Am I within my rights to do this even though I did mention the courier option in the description? It wasn't on the actual listing settings.
As a seller, am I obliged to adhere exactly to the courier quote? I am allowed to choose which courier I use too?
I really don't want the hassle now so would rather just cancel altogether. Thanks in advance!
Yes, cancel using that reason and put their ID on your blocked bidder list:

It's up to you what you charge, within reason, and who you use. Buyers cannot dictate terms.
