I posted an item I sold on Ebay. Royal Mail have posted it to the wrong address.

Hi

I recently sold an item on Ebay, sale all went through smoothly. I used Ebay's postage label through Royal Mail 1st class. Correct address, postcode etc on lable I printed and attached to the parcel.

It arrived late or should I say it was delivered to the wrong address by Royal Mail even though the name and address were clearly printed on the Ebay postage label.

I have done everything absolutley correct with regards to postage and I even sent a copy of the Royal Mail postage receipt as proof of postage to the buyer.

The buyer has checked other houses in his avenue to see if they have recieved a parcel by accident. No one has owned up to recieiving his parcel. It says on the Ebay tracking that it has been delivered. I have all the proof I need to show I have done everything correct.

The buyer has had to put in an Ebay request for refund and under the 'item not recieved'. Which means that even though I have been paid for the item I sold into my bank future payments are on hold until this is sorted.

The buyer stated that its not my fault (which I appreciate). Both myself and the buyer are in good communication throughout this.

I am getting nowhere with Royal Mail and I'm concerned that I am going to loose out financially and also loose the item I sold.

I have tried to make a claim with RY but when I try to complete their claim form it slams me with "your item has to be missiing for 10 days before a claim can be made'.

Can anybody help with my issue.

Thanks

Karl

Buyer will need to take this up with his local delivery office. They are the ones who marked as delivered they know which Postman was on the round and in my opinion it is up to them to justify as "delivered".

Any claim for Not Received you will automatically win, so long as you added the tracking before the case was opened. Buyer may however be able to claim on RM if he can prove that it was wrongly delvered, but it will I suspect be difficult.

As has already been said, so long as you have tracking which shows successful delivery of the item to the buyer's address the case will be decided in your favour, regardless of what the buyer says.  If the buyer subsequently tries to get a refund by opening a PayPal case against you then the buyer still won't get a refund, as PayPal check cases far more thoroughly than eBay do, so once they see that the tracking details prove successful delivery of the item to the buyer's address they will not refund the buyer's money.

If you have not already done so make sure that you add this buyer's User ID to your Blocked Bidders List.  In order to locate the relevant page click on this link https://offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/ebayISAPI.dll?BuyerBlockPreferences and a new page entitled Buyer Management will appear on the screen.  Look at the first sub-heading at the top of the page - this is the one that says "Blocked Buyer List."  Directly below that heading there is a link which says "Manage Blocked Buyers List."  Click on that link and a big white box will appear on the screen.  Add the buyer's User ID to that white box, click on the Submit button beneath it and once you have done that this buyer will not be able to purchase anything else that you list for sale on the site.

In addition to blocking the buyer make sure that you've also activated the feature to stop unwanted e-mails from blocked buyers from getting through to you.  To locate this option scroll right down to the bottom of the Buyer Management page and tick the box next to the sentence which says "Don't Allow Blocked Buyers To Contact Me."  Given that you've recently been involved in a transaction with this buyer the blocks will not kick in as soon as they would have done if you'd added somebody to your Blocked Bidders List that you'd never sold anything to, but once the blocks do kick in this buyer will be unable to send you any unwanted messages via eBay.

Did you add tracking to ebay marking as posted, as you always should?

If not add it to case now & you will win.

RM won't refund you as they will say delivered.
