how do you list anything bigger than 61cm?

Ebay is now forcing me into SD with no custom delivery option

The largest postage offered under SD is 61cm

There seems to be no way to list anything over 61cm and get the correct postage, even if you declare the dimensions in the listing height, width etc

anyone figured out what to do or does ebay just want us to take large items elsewhere?

Can this be done on the app or just the website?

Ok..I think it may just be on the website version..the app won't let me alter the length of the item.

Rick

Does your solution work for packages under 100 grammes  which is not an opt-in under the so-called Simple Delivery?

Regards

Yes,  it should do a bit of adapting for weights and size and it should work.

Re: how do you list anything bigger than 61cm?

Yes it should do, make sure that the over-weight and over-size are kept selected - you do not have to change them back to the actual weight as you are selecting your own custom carrier/postage to suit the actual weight.

Re: how do you list anything bigger than 61cm?

This is not working any more. it worked for a couple of large items I had. but the last time I changed the price to £800, chose the oversize parcels option, put it back to the regular price and it removed oversize option and set it back to small parcel.

I saved it as a draft as I need to get other smaller stuff listed and not spend all the time messing about on this one big item. But when I went back to the draft later the over size option had returned.

Now since then, it has been letting me chose oversize without having to keep altering stuff, i don't know if they are using AI to sort it out or not.

The problem I have now is medium parcels, I used to have them all collected by Evri and now only RM collect and most people are still choosing Evri which ebay won't let them collect medium parcels any more. Which means I have to lug a load of medium parcels to drop off points.

People are also mostly selecting Evri for small parcels and I thought people hated Evri.

All of my small parcels I am taking to the Post Office this Week are Evri lol.

It's a shame we cannot remove a certain courier from certain listings, as far as I know if you opt out of a courier it's a blanket thing that covers ALL our listings.

Way to complicate and make delivery so unpractical ebay. 😐

I've been trying to list some posters using the "work around",it's now sending me round in circles and telling me to fix the "delivery service"....

God,will this insanity ever end?!...somebody make these clowns stop.

Re: how do you list anything bigger than 61cm?

Follow the workaround exactly. Do not remove the over-size/over-weight selection, it has no bearing once you have selected your desired carrier. You do need to preview/refresh for it to "take hold".

It is still working - I have just checked.

(maybe ebay are tinkering behind the scenes again)

Re: how do you list anything bigger than 61cm?

When I list anything and put it to large parcel  with the 800 £ workaround  I then save draft, go back and change the price and save again and

it leaves it like that with custom postage

Yes - taking some action seems to allow the changes to remain. That is why my workaround has the steps of refresh and preview ( I have a feeling that some people omit this therefore it fails)

Re: how do you list anything bigger than 61cm?

I’ve alsomfound with listing eligible items like cards CDs etc etc on the browser ,even when you put the price in ,it doesn’t change to custom unless you hit enter or toggle between stuff to kickstart it

very sensitive little system

um just very surprised I’ve not had a single dream about SD seeing as I’ve been studying it for months 🤣

It's like having a little backdoor into the system, you have to open it just enough to get your toes in to start with then you can kick it open.

Re: how do you list anything bigger than 61cm?

They are closing it now. today most of my listed items have been changed and the sales that went thru were changed into simple delivery.

it is a BS. system...has not increased buyers just made sellers use sh..t couriers and taken away 'right' to send next day with a decent option

BUYERS will ALWAYS want the cheapest option, but I am NOT sending good things with EVRI or 48tracked

Ebay CS 'claims' new things are in pipeline but would not tell me what

Re: how do you list anything bigger than 61cm?

You have to follow the solution in this thread

once you chose large parcel custom delivery they can’t change it back

they can’t force people to put large items into small parcels

having said that listing a cricket bat brings up custom postage automatically for me

as for

Ebay CS 'claims' new things are in pipeline but would not tell me what

right 🤣🤣

is it supposed to be a sweet surprise or something
