how do you list anything bigger than 61cm?

Ebay is now forcing me into SD with no custom delivery option

The largest postage offered under SD is 61cm

There seems to be no way to list anything over 61cm and get the correct postage, even if you declare the dimensions in the listing height, width etc

anyone figured out what to do or does ebay just want us to take large items elsewhere?

Re: how do you list anything bigger than 61cm?

I have just been switched over this morning and I have been playing with a draft listing.

To get back to Royal Mail Special Delivery that I normally use I have worked round it by increasing the value to £800 and then altering the size to 1cm above the maximum, ie 62 x 47 x 47, ( which you cannot do until you put the price above £750) refresh page and then preview to check that my postage is still showing then going back to amend the price back down ( in this case to £300). The package size then appears to be held as oversized ( only way that I have found to get to oversized packages)

This appears to be holding up but I don't know how long for once listed.

A bonus is that you can now alter your handling time up to 40, yes 40, days!

Re: how do you list anything bigger than 61cm?

When you click on the packet size box during the listing process you will get the various size options in a pop-up.   Scroll down to the bottom of the pop-up list and you should see a link that says:
"Looking for heavier or larger package options? Switch to custom postage."

Re: how do you list anything bigger than 61cm?

I don’t get that option either anymore and many others don’t now for some reason it’s been removed

a workaround is to list it at over 750£ ,

this will bring up custom postage for you as items over that are not eligible for SD

chose your package dimensions large or extra large and chose weight

then chose the carrier

you can then put the right price on the listing and it will retain the custom postage seeing as it IS an oversized item

Re: how do you list anything bigger than 61cm?

You can trying asking ebay why it's not letting you opt out.   You can request a callback on here:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/eua?id=5275&mkevt=1&mkpid

Or if you buy your items to sell them you should really register as a business seller and then you won't have to use Simple Deilvery at all.

or make.    Even if you don't you can still be a business seller on ebay if you want to.

Re: how do you list anything bigger than 61cm?

That’s odd

I don’t know why it would change the size to a lower one

make sure you click save/done when you  chose extra large parcel

Good luck with customer services if you call them

I Might ask this question on tomorrows chat with community team as it’s impossible people aren’t allowed to send larger than a medium parcel

Re: how do you list anything bigger than 61cm?

thanks for your help

just to be clear

I put value of £1000 and get the option for custom delivery which i then set up and save

I go back into the listing, adjust the price back to £200 and my custom delivery disappears and is replaced by SD

i am sure ebay could unwind a lot of this with the flick of a switch, but they seem to be intent of forcing SD on sellers regardless of how well it works

Re: how do you list anything bigger than 61cm?

Try what I suggested above - alter the size as well. You then have the full list of carriers etc.

Re: how do you list anything bigger than 61cm?

I cannot thank you enough !!!! You are  absolutely wonderful . I have been trying to figure out how I can manage to send my 91 cm table via Parcelforce all week !!! I was so stressed and frustrated by the so called not so SIMPLE DELIVERY which turned out to far from simple and downright inaccurate and impossible to navigate in fact !!

Re: how do you list anything bigger than 61cm?

I think it's become very obvious that ebay DO NOT WANT private sellers.

First they add a buyer prevention fee

Then they make you jump through hoops to get your own money

Now they're preventing you from listing oversize items

I spent ages on the phone to CS specialist listing department who quite frankly didn't have a clue.

I put out a message to Marco - guess what, it's been ignored.

The whole thing is a complete shambles from a so called professional global business that employs nothing but idiots whose sole aim is to destroy it.

And I have to say, they've made a cracking start!

Re: how do you list anything bigger than 61cm?

spoke to them (CS & WEEKLY CHAT ) about this last week (they are working on it ?) but no update ? oh they have now changed the postage size layout (why) but still no sizes over 61cm ,this simple delivery mess goes on & on, how hard is it to add a larger size option

Re: how do you list anything bigger than 61cm?

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

It is not giving me the option for a large size package, just medium.

I have tried a few times but there are no options  to change it.

Re: how do you list anything bigger than 61cm?

Another seller here who's wasted hours of their life only to be told by CS that they're escalating and i'll expect an email in a week that will presumably say nothing at all. CS i spoke to didn't even know that custom delivery is no longer available for private sellers, useless.

Re: how do you list anything bigger than 61cm?

It's  a terrible way of doing things, instead of simplifying delivery it has made things more difficult.
