What's happened to postage options?

Went to list something just now and the post service options have completely changed since yesterday. I usually list with free post (I then select yodel as that's my nearest/best priced drop off centre), but there's no option to offer free post. I'm forced to list with *whatever* ebay has chosen, which might be a service miles away from me making post a nightmare. Why why why mess about with this when it was working fine.... (I have my own ideas of why it was changed, you can guess my thoughts...)

Re: What's happened to postage options?

I was thinking of doing that since I'm fed up with Simple Delivery.

So basically list as Free Postage and once sold you can arrange whatever postage method you like ?

How does payment work since at present with Simple Delivery it seems to be once you print your label it then shows the item as dispatched and you get your money the next day.

Re: What's happened to postage options?

I do not sell much myself but the one thing I have worked out it is now a benefit to not list with free postage . The reason is if the buyer returns the item for any reason the seller will not have to cover the original postage which means this has to be covered by Ebay . They came with this rubbish postal system so maybe they need to be out off pocket for it . It is bad enough for private sellers not to be able to pass on any packing charge so why should they cover the original postage just because a buyer changes his mind or buys the wrong item . After all Ebay are making a profit on postage so why should they not loose out if a buyer gets it wrong .
