Went to list something just now and the post service options have completely changed since yesterday. I usually list with free post (I then select yodel as that's my nearest/best priced drop off centre), but there's no option to offer free post. I'm forced to list with *whatever* ebay has chosen, which might be a service miles away from me making post a nightmare. Why why why mess about with this when it was working fine.... (I have my own ideas of why it was changed, you can guess my thoughts...)

Most probably because people had mainly sorted their own postage and had never needed a label before? I have never used an ebay label in 20 years.

Apparently I found out if you put the sizes in the specifics which are larger than medium parcel then the oversize option comes up where you can chose a courier. 🙂
According to ebay help you can still combine postage and there is also an option to chose drop off or collect after the buyer has paid if the courier supports it.

Neither have I in my 12 years here. To me Simple Delivery is still the same as it ever was. Wrap the parcel well enough to get it delivered safely. Write the address on it. Take it round the corner to the post office. Add the RM Reference Number to the transaction. My motto has always been Keep ebay out of my transactions as much as I possibly can and it's worked perfectly for me all these years.
As has been said many times before in various ways. If something works perfectly, hitting it with a sledge-hammer won't make it work any better.

Been here since 2007 as a member but once my listings have finished thats me done, and there are a lot saying that, I won't be participating in Simply Delivery and their Prepaid labels that are utter useless apparently to send a comic is the same as sending a jumper?? anyway most of what I used to sell were under 100g and fine but Ebay have now mandatory changed to small parcel....I'll be off to my other place, which most sellers have these days a secondary place...not like a few years ago when Ebay was the go to place now they aren't even good, buying or selling....will feel strange but thats life

I think it would be more about the fact they have championed it, SD and dumped it in an area that they don't want, like and desperate to move away from, Private listings....and have so far kept far away from the business section where they are directing everyone....makes you wonder

Agree I usually send sold items through royal mail but that has stopped maybe time to leave ebay , why change something that was working ?

Agree getting too much hard work

The best way to remove a section you don't want is by introducing a system, just for them, that is very unpopular, disruptive and cumbersome forcing most in that section to stop or move to an area which doesn't support it...makes you wonder

Is there a charge for this collection/bring my label? There was on RM
website last I looked a few weeks ago.
From what other posters have reported there isn't currently a charge if the collection is booked via eBay, as opposed to on the Royal Mail website.

They won’t put up with it for sure
at least in its current form and then still probably not

Yup. Total and utter *bleep* Up. I refuse to use Evri anyway as they are dreadful and I have seen by accident their parcel "depot" which comprised 5 dodgy cars in the rain in a trading estate (no actual building used) and a van emptying parcels out in a big pile for people to sort. Packages often go astray.
I only ever use PO. So like you, I went to list my stuff and usual PO option gone. Nearest Evri depot / drop off "poor beyond belief " 15 miles away. There goes any pittance of any small change to save for a holiday. And yes........I can guess your thoughts. And I share them. Ebay have messed up. No longer a sales platform for us. Hey ho. Bye bye Ebay now after 10 years.

Don't worry about the bleep up.
Ebay have bleeped people trying to talk small spherical objects used in tennis . And a famous old highwayman called Richard Turpin.
AI got no sense of humour. Or much sense at all, really...

I suppose it was inevitable they'd remove the workaround eventually. So, no more custom postage option. Which I could almost live with were it not for:
Why have they removed Yodel as an option? Yodel, Evri & PO are all walking distance for me with Yodel being the cheapest on the majority of 'box below 1kg' items I sell. So now I either ditch freepost and let the buyer decide or absorb the extra 30p - which doesn't sound like much until you multiply it several times over.
Small light items. I used to be able to use RM for £1.55 up to 100g in a letter or £1.80 up to 200g. Now everything is £2.94 shipping. This is fkucing stupid and means my small cheap items (value £1 hence the difference in shipping matters) will no longer be cheap. Why have they done this stupidity? Do they not realize how many folks sell small items (eg phone covers, charger cables) that could never justify almost £3 delivery.... and in fact never need that level of delivery. WHY EBAY, WHY?

But we can talk about boris Johnson without bleeps? Lol
i mean you know what that is in American
