I received an offer on an item on Friday which I accepted. There was then a problem with the payment and I got a message saying their daughter accidentally made the offer too high and what could be done?
I’m wary of some buyers and this person had 0 feedback so I just blocked them and someone bid on the item and cancelled out the offer anyway.
I sold another item yesterday and it was not paid for.
When I looked at the buyer the username looked familiar. It was the same name as the other person who made the offer but with different numbers at the end and the account creation date was the 9th November.
The item they won is completely different to the one they made an offer on so I’m suspicious of what they are trying to do other than wasting my time.
With this in mind would I be able to cancel their order and block them earlier than the eBay stipulation on making payments for won items based on my reasonable suspicions?

eBay don't allow for this sort of cancellation. There nearest we have is "Issue with buyer's address", which you could argue there would be if the buyer is setting out to deceive.

It is the same user.
Wait 4 days and then cancel as unpaid.
Add them to your blocked buyers list too.
