Your payouts are on hold until you update your account details.

My bank account hasn't changed at all, I have had no problems receiving previous payments but eBay has decided to reverify and put a hold on my payouts?

I have clicked on the red banner to "update" my bank account with the same details. It wants me to confirm deposit amounts but eBay has not sent me any deposits that I can enter. What can I do to fix this eBay error?

Thank you!

I have just had the same thing occur.  The bank account ive had linked to ebay has been the same one for the last few years and ebay have paid out multiple times to that account, as recently as last month. Yet today ive received a message that i have to update my account info.
Either by uploading a bank statement, login to my bank account from some link from ebay or verify 2 micropayments.  They can forget me logging into my bank or providing them statements, talk about opening myself up to getting my accounts scammed. How do i know how secure their systems are holding my bank login details?

I could understand maybe if I hadn't had any deposits to my bank in over a year, but Ebay deposited my funds to that bank account only last month so how is that not verification that the account is the correct one?

It seem like ebay are just making extra work for its users for no good reasons.

Those micro deposits are not sent instantly, and we've had a recent Bank Holiday could have delayed their arrival a little too.

Mine took 5 business days to appear and they are tiny,  only a few pence each, easily missed.

Keep checking that bank account,  they will suddenly appear.

Say by mid week if still no sign,  then contact eBay Customer Services,  to send you 2 more.

This is the easiest and quickest way to contact eBay Customer Services, for a Call Back option.

 https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/eua?id=5275&mkevt=1&mkpid

Lines open between 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays.

9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.

I recommend contacting CS very first thing in the morning, when the lines first open,  as there's more chance of Dublin answering.

Hi rhymecity, thanks for your post.

Just to add to the good advice from tressygirl, please note that your bank details don't have to change for us to request verification of your bank account. This is a normal process that all sellers have to go through at some stage. Just make sure to check the bank statements of the account that you added to your eBay account, and they should be there within 1-5 business days.

Any further assistance, please let us know, and we will be happy to help.

Thank you,

Marco

Just go for that option, it's a simple one and will solve your problem. eBay don't need your bank log in details.

Couldn't agree more. They now even changed their policy so even if you reverify your bank account, they are going to hold on to all payments for a few days. I will be looking to use ebay as a last resort for selling my secondhand stuff from now on. It's just so disrespectful to sellers

Its called open banking if anyone wants to google it ie letting ebay access your account.

Gives them very limited access to very limited info for a short time so they can id you, PayPal do it also and touch wood neither have robbed me yet. I totally get why some would be concerned by it but if I remember right you just log in through a special page on your banks site which will be a legit bank page then once done it takes you back. Took 30 seconds and done. Pretty sure they literally confirm your id and nothing more. Ive done it with other companies also where they did need to see my finances but you are literally on your bank for 2 mins and only put the password in on the banks site. I think they can view it again for a limited time after but will only ever be able to view your account details, not log in and do anything.
