Did you mean:

The new when we get paid rules from February.

Ebay was always heavily weighted in favour of the Buyers, but this new mad rule thats coming in next month about having to wait two days after delivery is confirmed to get paid is simply beyond the pale.

And sometimes delivery conformation never comes, apparently in that situation we have to wait 14 days to get our money.

This is disgusting and completely nuts. A self-destructive move from Ebay.

Re: The new when we get paid rules from February.

I asked ebay if I should be on a business account.  They said no.

I asked what the amount of sales for a business account and they wouldn’t tell me!

Re: The new when we get paid rules from February.

'I asked what the amount of sales for a business account and they wouldn’t tell me!'

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That's because they can't tell you; there is no answer to that question

(Unfortunately ebay CS staff won't tell you stuff you really need to know, because they haven't got a clue either...)

As buffster says; it's not how much you sell, but what you sell.

If you're selling your own stuff from the loft, the garage, the wardrobe, the toolbox, the garden shed, inherited contents of a dead relative's home, (or the drawer of unwanted gifts given to you by an elderly auntie with no taste! 😂)  Yep, you're a private seller !

If, on the other hand , your're buying things to sell, making things to sell or selling 'consumables' (i.e. things that are impossible to *be* second hand because they get  'used up'; like vitamins, make-up, sweets, pet food etc etc) you are *not* a private seller and should be on a business account.

Another reason that ebay CS don't know the answer to your question is probably that this definition of 'private or business' seller is not set by ebay.

It's not even set by HMRC .

It's set, in the UK, by UK consumer law.

And ebay CS isn't based in the UK so they wouldn't have the first clue about it... 🙁

Well, that turned out to be a bit of a misunderstanding on your part, didn't it!

Oops!  😳

I can't be bothered to scroll through over 50 pages to find WHEN I posted that.  However, when I posted it, the information was accurate,

You mean you thought it was accurate, but it turned out not to be (as someone else proffered at the time).

C'est la vie! 🙂

Yes, thanks, I know.
However, on JANUARY 1st when I wrote that post, it was not mandatory.  Like all sellers, I have to stay and adapt or stop selling on Ebay and, after some thought, I am staying.

Re: The new when we get paid rules from February.

Good luck with staying. I'm enjoying looking at my other options. I don't intend staying on a sinking ship.

When it wasn't mandatory being able to opt out was irrelevant...

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
