Ebay was always heavily weighted in favour of the Buyers, but this new mad rule thats coming in next month about having to wait two days after delivery is confirmed to get paid is simply beyond the pale.

And sometimes delivery conformation never comes, apparently in that situation we have to wait 14 days to get our money.  

This is disgusting and completely nuts. A self-destructive move from Ebay.

My main concern with offers, is that if a buyer sends an offer and the seller accepts, ebay will deduct the BPF from the offer price.

So if the offer is £10, ebay will take the BPF of £1.08 and the seller get's £8.92.

I hate when you chat to Ebay on they phone and they say " Thanks for your loyalty " that means nothing to me after these changes as a seller ,  really upsets me , they really don`t care anymore

I feel so deflated and no motivation to sell anymore

I just let buyers make up to the 3 offer attempts and if it doesn't reach my minimum then they can bid.

I think by 'pending funds' eBay is actually referring to funds that have been received by eBay but not yet released to the seller as opposed to funds that eBay are still waiting to receive.

If the buyer pays by a debit or credit card then it takes 2 days for eBay to actually receive the funds.  Therefore, if a refund is issued within 2 days of the order date it has to be taken from the seller's available balance/bank account instead of the 'pending funds' as eBay is yet to receive the funds.

I have amended my minimum best offer price so that it is now more than the starting bid price to help counter that problem.

Not aimed just at you but generally. I'm replying to you because you mentioned chatting with eBay CS by phone.

Do they send you a transcript of that conversation like they do if you speak with them via chat?

With a transcript you have a record they can't deny which could be useful if your call is a complaint.

To be fair I don't feel they have been kicking me in the teeth for my over 20 years of having this account - just recently. However every day they don't reverse these stupid changes is diminishing my happy memories of buying and selling on ebay. I'm already seriously questioning if this is the right place for me anymore and if they make Simple Delivery mandatory that will probably finish me.

I can't say it enough times but bring back private seller fees - even if it's just an option for those of us who find selling with buyer fees unworkable and soul destroying.

Has anybody seen an increase in messages requesting reductions  / lowball offers ‘to cover the fee’, even if they have adjusted their price down already?

That is very true.

My minimum best offer price can't be seen so it just means that a potential buyer won't get something on the cheap from me for now.

They can still bid though.

I have definitely noticed a decreased amount of buyers making a best offer only because my minimum acceptance isn't as low as it was.

Beware of the auto bid glitch though. Fortunately it never hit me but there's a thread here pretty much dedicated to it.

To summarise, if the glitch strikes, eBay start sending buyers offers for your item(s). First you'll probably know about it is when something sells for far lower than you ever intended to.

My faith in ebay is at the lowest it's ever been.

As a private seller and buyer who does not want to be a business I have sold less because of buyers having to pay a bit more, and I now buy less than I did because of having to pay a bit more.

This obviously affects all private buyers and sellers and is a nightmare.

Because items I sell are collectible and are normally limited I won't sell for a ridiculous low price but I don't sell for a huge profit either.

My sales are down and I now buy less because of these changes and a lot of private buyers and sellers are having the same issues.

A m azon do. I much prefer their CS, overall. It actually exists, for a start.

So surely it makes more sense to use their chat where they do, especially if you are complaining.

& I've never had to deal with Amazon CS to date, but I only really use them for high end items that don't really fail.

Doesn't surprise me that people think they are more professional than eBay though. Especially after reading these threads.

I only wish they had to stop all this nonsense by others who think they know more than anyone else. Then the facts would back themselves up!!

If they did that I would have posted on this site to show all the people that I never misheard what was said by customer services or not read the non existent rules or the fact some want to investigate my account out of pure disinformation and slander my credibility.

You could try to ask them but I don’t think they do mainly on those out of office chats you always get a transcript following.
