Ebay was always heavily weighted in favour of the Buyers, but this new mad rule thats coming in next month about having to wait two days after delivery is confirmed to get paid is simply beyond the pale.
And sometimes delivery conformation never comes, apparently in that situation we have to wait 14 days to get our money.
This is disgusting and completely nuts. A self-destructive move from Ebay.

This is one MAD setup... me wondering how long eBay are going to last with this current payment setup ???
Their bosses had better do something and do it FAST !... before eBay is totally finished with no buyers as these Private sellers who are now being shafted by eBay with delayed payments are also BUYERS TOO ! ...

Only on items under £10 and it doesn’t apply yet.

Hi.
The only way to describe all these issues is that it is all a complete shambles stemmed by greed and control.
Buyers having to wait for funds to be released, sellers having to pay a bit extra for protection, although items sent by RM tracked cover seller and buyer.
The motto here must be why fix what isn't broken.

I agree because I always use RM 48hr tracked.
But sometimes that can end up being delayed as it is a aim not a guarantee.
Plus having to wait until delivery is based on greed and even then there is still a wait of 2 extra days before being able to access money that is mine.

They done this many years ago and it did not work it failed and backfired
In all my 20 years of being on Ebay selling Ive never ever seen so many complaints and toxic comments by members and i really understand why people are doing this , even their eBay page on Facebook are getting bad feedback .

No it doesn’t help I was told it was meaninglessly to have any feedback. Called eBay yet again for all those say you keep telling you are wrong. Most on here are business sellers so they have taken it out on me.
i have been berated on here saying was has happened like I am a 2 years old kid!
I still haven’t been paid the buyers have had their goods for 1 week and have left feedback l.
if these issues haven’t happened to you stop harassing me.

Well I was under the impression that it helped if items were sent untracked. Plus when the under £10 kicks in it'll be even worse.
19-02-2025 6:43 PM
I feel the same because feedback seems to count for nothing nowadays.

Totally agree !
This setup is now worse than the dreaded PayPal E-Check ! (E-Cheque in UK English)

Revised reply.

Thank you.
Plus some of the forthcoming changes will most probably cause even more issues.

No, it doesn’t help if items are sent untracked. At present feedback will not get money released.
They’ve said that positive feedback will get funds released 24 hours after that feedback is left, but only on items under £10, from the end of February.
What with everything else I think that sounds too complicated for ebay to manage in practice.
19-02-2025 7:34 PM
I agree with you.
One issue caused is that if a lot of buyers feel that feedback counts for nothing nowadays then they have not got any incentive to care about leaving feedback.
As a private seller that is something I've noticed.

Someone sent me an offer via message today and of course they were probably talking about the price they see not the price I see. It's hard to counteroffer via message as of course it would need to be the price they see which means if they did accept I would need to edit the listing price to be the price they see not the price I see. Anyway we couldn't agree a price and I was kinda glad as I didn't want to do the maths to workout how I would need to adjust the price they see.
It must be bad when I am relieved not to be selling something I don't want.
Have only sold 1 item in the past week when my normal long term average is 1 per day. Kinda glad as with these awful changes I am feeling increasingly done with ebay. This weekend I need to do some research into starting new listings on other platforms if there are any that aren't going stupid beyond belief.

Wow, I can't believe what a complicated mess ebay have created just so they can make more money.

Well, a lot of people would describe me as wealthy and laid back. I still think it sucks, all of it. I am aware of how lucky I am to have been able to just give up eBay with no worries. I did quite enjoy it though as I collect a certain brand of clothing and met other collectors through it.
I used to say I didn’t use Vin ted because of their terrible system and even worse goods. Now thanks to free to sell those same goods are all here but with higher prices.
19-02-2025 7:57 PM
Absolutely right. As a private seller and buyer I get to see both sides of the worst buyer/seller changes I can remember being introduced in longer than I can remember.
19-02-2025 7:59 PM
I don't blame you.
At the moment I have best offer options on my listings but I might amend that in the near future.

When people send me offer messages I just want to deal with it quickly and clearly as I am usually doing something else at the time in my normal life like taming lions, jumping from helicopters, saving nuns, etc. I don't really want to get into a maths situation and a complicated explanation to potential buyers of what they will end up paying. It's a nightmare. Then after all that ebay delay payment because my 2 decades of positive feedback count for nothing around here anymore. Sick of it.
