Ebay was always heavily weighted in favour of the Buyers, but this new mad rule thats coming in next month about having to wait two days after delivery is confirmed to get paid is simply beyond the pale.
And sometimes delivery conformation never comes, apparently in that situation we have to wait 14 days to get our money.
This is disgusting and completely nuts. A self-destructive move from Ebay.

Is this still going to come into operation at the end of February?
It's planned but not in yet end of February was the last i heard, but for items under £10 only.

I was told it was coming in on the 14th of February, no it hasn't ?????

Thank you have been so kind towards me, and yes they are a wind up. I have no idea what these people try to gain out of spite but its very childish behaviour they think they are god well they are not.
I just wanted to thank you for believing me.

Re my above message about all ebay changes. Here's a few more new issues ....
1. Re Its FREE TO SELL -
typo? .... line 5 shld have been unpromoted. Predictive text!!
2. since posting above on Monday I've remembered a couple more issues/ reasons I've left after 25 YEARS... use of AI . This is not just an ebay feature but becoming part of real life?? I had a formula for writing my description and now I need to battle against AI to describe my own item.
3. After 25 YEARS and no listing EVER REMOVED by ebay I've now had 3 items taken off since xmas. Ebay doesn't give a reason and item just disappears??
Do they think I'm stupid. That I would suddenly become soo dim I don't understand what's allowed n what's not??
4. With regard to getting paid I had a message yesterday from one of my 3 last buyers b4 I shut shop for good. They informed me that they had received the item. So HOW DO I TELL EBAY THIS AND FINALLY GET PAID?? How do ebay know when an untracked item has arrived? I know this is all part of ploy to make us use their post and to track .
Regards Nanna

Special Delivery sent , got to post office next day took another 5 days for buyer to collect now have to wait extra 2 days to get payed , *bleep* take

14 days without tracking another 2 days and i get money owed from the 4th the day this started. I have been using tracked more and that is 5 days but don't want to rip buyers off never have yet so i only track higher value

If only...there is still some snags/issues with payouts I and some other users seem to be experiencing. For example,
I've received funds for items I sent RM Tracked 48hrs, 2days after delivery was confirmed by tracking - as should be the case/as advertised.
HOWEVER, for items I've sent RM 2nd Class Large Letter, purchased through ebay with the generic tracking number uploaded (which only confirms delivery if the postie scans it on arrival)...I have three items that have been scanned on delivery and marked on ebay/my orders page as 'delivered' and x1 'Funds available in ebay balance 15th Feb' and other x2 with same message for 16th Feb...but neither have appeared in my funds to withdraw, with my balance still showing as £0.00, but I can see funds 'still pending' in my account! So either the 2-day post tracked delivery 'funds released' rule only applies to TRACKED services (RM24/48 etc) and not other forms of tracking delivery, or the system isn't working.
On top of this, last week I processed a refund for a buyer for (combined postage) about 10mins after they purchased and noticed the refund came out of my 'available funds' instead of 'pending funds', so i no longer keep any £ in my ebay balance and immediately withdraw it, as ebay should deduct the refund from the pending funds on the sale/order they are holding back. Because of this I now withdraw all my £ when its immediately available rather than allow ebay to hold it for longer than necessary and accrue even more interest for themselves!
This means I'm no longer buying items on ebay as a result (from either business or private sellers) and doubt I'll continue selling my unwanted items once my remaining items sell and once funds eventually become available I'll withdraw them, all due to this fiasco.

Yes same here i've had a lot of refunds taken from available balance, one was £9 as buyer paid £16 and it was only £7. A lot just buy without requesting total and then i refund. So i should keep nothing in the available balance then, what an absolute pain it is trying to be honest. I haven't bought anything for 2 months because of all this so business sellers are missing out now

I'm not sure the available balance thing will work. I think they can just withdraw it straight from your current account if they want to.

Good point. According to their own published guidance/rules the refund should come from 'pending funds' first, or if not from your 'ebay available balance/wallet'. By withdrawing my ebay balance I was hoping that would mean they resort to the pending funds (what they advertise is the first step anyway!!), but I hadn't considered they may just resort to your payment/bank account to claim.
I've not had to refund anyone since so I'm not sure what would happen in that case...be interesting to hear from any others who have refunded buyers when their ebay balance was at £0.00 to understand what source ebay take from (while the funds are still held as pending)....

I had no funds in my balance and a buyer who cancelled within an hour of ordering. They just took it from my bank account and I was ‘paid’ for the cancelled order at some later date.

As i thought it would be thanks for confirming
19-02-2025 5:45 PM
Ouch!! So they sat on the 'pending funds' for X long and proceeded to deduct funds (to refund buyer) from your bank balance, despite them holding the original pending funds (and despite the guidance saying 'pending funds' is the source they should take it from in the first place?!). Honestly, I've lost so much trust in the platform, I've already stopped buying on here out of principle, and am winding down my selling now too.

@vinylmad2023 That’s exactly it. I think it was ten days before I got the money for the cancelled sale back, and I wasn’t subject to holds at the time.
Thankfully I’ve never sold something because I needed the money and it was only £30 but if I’d been trying to get some quick cash for bills as some are I would have been in a right mess.
I removed all my listings a couple of weeks ago. No plans to start up again, certainly not unless things settle down a lot.
eBay was fun, now its just stressful, both buying and selling.

Hi nanna,
Apparently it helps speed things up if a buyer leaves feedback confirming a item has been received.
The only issue is not all buyers leave feedback.
19-02-2025 6:24 PM
Item has to be delivered via tracking feedback does not could towards payout
19-02-2025 6:26 PM
At the minute no it does not count. At the end of the month its supposed to count if under £10
