Ebay was always heavily weighted in favour of the Buyers, but this new mad rule thats coming in next month about having to wait two days after delivery is confirmed to get paid is simply beyond the pale.
And sometimes delivery conformation never comes, apparently in that situation we have to wait 14 days to get our money.
This is disgusting and completely nuts. A self-destructive move from Ebay.

Be careful what you wish for. Amazon holds onto funds for 30+ days after a sale.

I would like to Thank you for saying the truth yes I have been told it’s 30days because I hand delivered with proof. EBay call centre told me it’s not 14days or anything else. It’s 30 days!!
I have been called out I am talking rubbish and they have all been paid in two days after delivery with no tracking number that cannot be scanned and a proof posting which delivery company Royal Mail scans. I have evidence and feedback and sent by tracked service Royal Mail are not scanned!! That one I will never be paid for as feedback is meaningless to eBay.
thank you so much

It’s for the buyers. I had many they tried to make out not delivered but they have already claimed from Post Podfice and eBay and yes they had the goods fraud.
Another kept item for two weeks said I had broken it then eBay believes them and not me! Her son broke it she finally said so

Where can we see this info on BUYERS activity ?- we have asked ebay for this for years to help sellers make better judgement on Buyers, blocking , cancelling orders and such.
Sorry a little off topic, but kinda related in why payments delayed.

It was what the buyer finally said after eBay stepped in and told me to refund her she told her son broke it. Trying to pull out anything to get her money back its through the logged information and the emails sent.
you can only see what they purchased through feedback unless they have negative feedback against them

I wonder if ebay understood how disingenuous, shifty and insulting these changes look.
They must have a pretty low opinion of their buyers and sellers to do this.
I'm OK to pay sellers fees as they provide a useful service but not ok to be treated like a new uaer scammer with the protection fees on my listings and unnecessarily delayed payment after more than half my middle aged life being a 100% good ebayer. There's not a single negative on my account, ever.
I've always been generally pro ebay but these awful changes make them impossible to recommend.
17-02-2025 7:16 PM
I can't see that any part of this benefits private sellers.
Even the loudly proclaimed 'Free to Sell' is only half true. Yes, it's still Free to List but don't expect to sell much unless you 'volunteer' to pay Sponsorship fees.
ebay say they want to attract new private sellers and for some reason think that introducing another way to hold payments for All private sellers is the way to do that.
They also seem to think that making it clear to buyers that ebay thinks ALL private sellers are un-trustworthy is going to help them sell anything?
If anything, once the truth dawns of just how awful a place ebay is these days for private sellers to try to sell on, there will be another decline in the number who are still willing to even try.
Followed by a further decline in sales as they won't be here to even try finding what they'd like to buy when it's so much easier elsewhere.
Why bother with ebay at all?

Spot on new sellers have to wait 30 days for payment and have to post up front i can't see many staying for long

Thanks for your reply

But is that impossible in that the way ebay demands only positive, or no feedback being allowed for buyers from sellers?

There is so much in your post above that is wrong (or possibly typos), that members should discount it as'fact'.
For example no-one has said they 'got paid 2 days after delivery with a tracking number that can't be scanned'.
You have already been corrected on most of your misconceptions. For example, you have been told that the fall back payment position under this new payment hold scheme is published as being 14 days.

There is nothing wrong with the information I was given by customers services they never mention 14 days as you keep stipulating to me. I still have not been paid, for pending items, where the buyer has the goods. The item signed for has not been updated.
I suggest you get your facts right, not everything you have stated is working for me, it may work for you. I dont need to be corrected, because what ever you are telling me that has never happened.. So get your facts right yourself before you state what is right and what is wrong, until all have this situation ever happen to you then you cannot be the Judge and Jury.

Starting 6 February, 2025, eBay will typically make the sales proceeds of private sellers available in your eBay balance after the order has been successfully delivered, unless subject to a hold. We'll use these criteria to determine when an item has been successfully delivered:
No mention there of thirty days. If you have a thirty day hold I suggest there may be some other reason causing it. Or perhaps it won't be thirty days. Has it passed 14 yet?
Ebay CS (Customer Services) are notorious for giving duff information, to get you off the phone. I think I may have read less than complimentary opinions of CS from you? Apologies if I am wrong on that.
18-02-2025 11:27 AM
I was told 30 days yesterday by 3 different eBay customer service
18-02-2025 11:31 AM
Could it be because Ebay are looking into whether you are correctly registered?
There are a few reasons why the hold is 30 days.
18-02-2025 11:32 AM
Hooray, because I have been called out on this thread as a liar, stupid, and making too many typos as one. Even one says I have lied about my own account not having any negatives.
Yes 30 days, why some on this forum, just listen and think they know everything. I have spoke to two customers services one told me 40 days, and the next said its 30 days just like you.
What is the problem with people on here trying to call me out and repeating again and again I am thick.
18-02-2025 11:35 AM
There is also no mention there of funds being released if positive feedback is received earlier than 14 days.
Is this still going to come into operation at the end of February?
18-02-2025 11:37 AM
Gosh you should see the negative comments on social media - Facebook
Ebay are getting absolutely hammered , its getting very toxic now

Take no notice, They are all part of the pro-eBay group on a windup !
No one can dare say a bad word about eBay or tell the TRUTH !
Even then they 100% know that eBay are totally at fault, they defend it like they own it !

'There is also no mention there of funds being released if positive feedback is received earlier than 14 days.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This should be going ahead at the end of Feb (we've heard no different) BUT please be aware it only covers sale of under a tenner.
*Untracked* (and unconfirmed tracked) sales of over £10.00 will still have to wait the full 14 days regardless of feedback.
