I list a few things on ebay occasionally, but this new simple delivery is just rubbish for sellers. It assumes that ebay actually know the size and weight of items And that everyone can easily get to Evri or other courier services easily. Why did they have to stop the seller from deciding how to post items? Put me right off bothering to use Ebay.

'I contacted an agent and they told me that they will escalate this as an urgent priority and get back to me.'
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I hate to have to tell you that this is a lie.
They just told you something that you wanted to hear to get you off the phone.
Simple Delivery isn't going to be 'escalated' as an 'urgent priority' for any single seller: it's for ALL private sellers, like it or lump it.......

Hi jezzagold, it’s not just the sellers it’s not working for, we as buyers are not getting our goods either, ordered a dress from a seller , it didn’t arrive, everi made loads of excuses, had to have a refund, ordered another dress from the same supplier, guess what everi have failed to deliver that as well, making loads of excuses, tried talking to eBay, they are no help, just telling me to apply for a refund, it’s not a refund I’m after, it’s the goods I have ordered.

'it’s not a refund I’m after, it’s the goods I have ordered.'
Exactly!
Unfortunately, there does seem to be an increase in reports of parcels not being delivered, lost/stolen/damaged etc since Simple Delivery started - and then it's, 'oh well, never mind, have a refund...' which is all well & good, but I'm sure we would all much rather something was done about the unsatisfactory courier situation.
Obviously, as a buyer, it can be extremely disappointing not to receive an item, and for sellers, it's not only the loss of the item, but the scandalous waste of time and effort spent listing, packing & posting... all for nothing. ☹️

Don't forget the seller being out of pocket, you don't always get a refund for your cost as a seller!
There is one thing that can be done, as a seller I have selected the royal mail as my only parcel service and excluded evri, you can do it in your seller settings, a 100 times better parcel service, i have had one single parcel wander through them in a year!
I wonder what GPS system evri uses, for most of last year every evri parcel attempted delivery to me took it to one of two factories/industrial units about half a mile from my address, one always returned them but the other was empty, but they still kept leaving parcels there, I mean! Common sense guys! When a builder went in to do some work for a new tennant they reportedly found over 100 parcels for a load of different addresses in the housing estate, just dumped through a broken window! Duh!

Same here. Postage is more expensive if you exclude Evri, but worth it to avoid them! Maybe if everyone excluded Evri, Simple Delivery would shrivel up & die...? 😄
