Simple Delivery

Is Simple Delivery mandatory now ? used to be able to select custom postage option but it’s not available now. Just tried listing and Simple Delivery is the only option for postage

Re: Simple Delivery

We are all leaving as soon as we’ve had OUR money given to us from the greedy dictators, so that’s the weekend for me. Remove all your listings (done mine already) at the weekend so you don’t end up selling something for underpaid postage as this is also being changed now and NOT 7th April as they claim- more lies. Don’t forget to add weight with all the other complaints by writing to the CMA as it’s illegal to ban competition between businesses (couriers in this case) and be told how we have to send our belongings to someone. Simple online form to complete and once this is done, and you have any money owed, then close your account.

Re: Simple Delivery

Don’t believe a word of it as everything they say is lies, such as telling us and many other members over a week ago that they were “very sorry about the glitch in the system that has caused custom postage to be removed and only show (not so) simple delivery option. This isn’t what we want for our customers and we would be very upset if it happened to us. We have got the tech department working on this quickly.” Blah, blah, blah of total lies. Special place in Hell for liars.
Delete your listings now as their postage is now the only way despite them saying it’s 7th as it’s being changed right now when a sale is made and you will lose out. Please join the leavers party and write to the CMA about lack of options for postage so it’s all in their favour.
Liars, thieves and scum.

Re: Simple Delivery

"They’re so sloppy in their rush to get this system out that table doesn’t even differentiate between second and first class….they just put 4.27 for which service????"

I don't know whether it's sloppy, deliberate or sheer incompetence, but the table has the weight bands overlapping.  So for example, for Royal Mail only, the table says:

2-10kg  £7.27

10-15kg  £12.34

So what if the parcel is exactly 10kg, which band would it fall into?  It should say like Royal Mail say - "up to" 10kg.  Let's see if they change it, but it shouldn't be left to customers to spot this lack of attention to detail.

Re: Simple Delivery

Definitely not written by a Royal Mail employee or any competent clerk admin person with  half a brain cell

Shoddy but expensive

and they want ebay to be a high end luxury site

try high end management of the daily business, that would be a good start

Re: Simple Delivery

What about when RM increased prices on the 7th as well? Has this been considered? If course not as it would blow the eBay robot brain (oh no they haven’t got a brain which is why they are getting so many people delete their accounts!)
I always posted my expensive bear collection as special delivery as this was the ONLY postal service that paid correct compensation, was Fully Tracked on whole journey and arrived next day. For this service the cost was £9.35 up to 2kg and £10.35 for heavier. What do you get for their prices? Absolutely nothing as Evri and RM tracked (which isn’t!) don’t pay for this!!
I don’t see any compensation or full tracking involved in any of their choices and don’t believe a word they say as it’s all lies.
Write to CMA as they won’t like the fact that courier competition has been eradicated, delete your account and run away fast before they can lie and cheat you any more.

I listed an item last week and wanted to charge the buyer £348 total (thought it would be nice as that was what was on the item’s price tag), and use ‘bring my label’ - so I listed at £334.58 with the bpf coming in at £13.42 and used advanced custom postage to offer ‘free’ RM special delivery bought from my click and drop so it can go on Monday morning instead of next Friday afternoon which is the earliest I’d be able to go out and use a QR code.

Kerching. Tonight I ‘made the sale’! My last one on eBay ☹️, as my last two listings have now been ended never to return.

My pending funds show £334.58 ‘awaiting delivery’. So far so good.

HOWEVER:

In ‘my payments’ the order shows as

Item total £348.00
Net earnings £334.58
Buyer protection fee -£13.42
Transaction fees £0.00
Postage £0.00

Balance £357.47

No entry for postage but I have not been sent an SD label and the order page wants me to purchase the ‘buyer selected’ Special Delivery label from ebay which I will not be doing. I’ll buy from RM online and add my tracking as normal on Monday when its collected.

So….Where did that extra £9.47 come from?

Re: Simple Delivery

I’m beginning to think that actually they don’t want private buyers anymore, just businesses, and that this is an effective way to get rid of them… it’s certainly worked for me.

Welcome to the newest member of the walk out club!
Don’t forget to write to the CMA as eBay are breaking the competition and marketing law by using only their choice of courier.

Re: Simple Delivery

the postie has never failed to collect. And why won't they do tracking anymore?
post offices aren't actually paid for the postage that is royal mail, so they won't be underpaid.
I'm hoping that as I rarely go over small parcel size it will be ok. But I might not last the long haul. So far there is nowhere as good as ebay for selling things and I need to get rid of a lot of things!!

Re: Simple Delivery

🤔Just wondering how your supposed include the size and weigh each item when listing multi items without being in possession of an individual dedicated box for each item + packing protection material used when listing that item? Just asked my local village store post office counter about accepting ebay SD items and received a blank look and a reply if doesn't match the RM size and have the correct postage rate paid after being weigh at the counter then it won't be accepted (it took them 6 months in the past to even accept an ebay printed RM post label)

Re: Simple Delivery

I'm not sure why you suggest the royal mail won't give tracking anymore or why the postie will not collect if collection arranged.
At the moment ebay is the most viable option for selling my stuff and there is a lot to get rid of. Other options I've looked at mean paying out first.

I will stick to small parcel royal mail size to try and avoid any problems, even tho it will cost my buyers a heck of a lot more than actual costs and there will be no first class option.

Re: Simple Delivery

Will be from April 15th

I have put in a complaint as it doesn't work for me at all & they aren't giving personal sellers any choice.

Hopefully if we all complain they will change their minds

Re: Simple Delivery

Exactly the point of their not simple delivery. It’s impossible to know size and weight unless packed up first but why would you get packaging unless item is sold, but you can’t work out the postage (which is more expensive than post office stamps) unless you get the packing first! What a complete mess from the robots that are eBay. Run now while you can before they cheat you of postage money.

Re: Simple Delivery

Ref: Home RM collection? I live out in the sticks and lucky if my post persons reaches my property more than 3-4 times weekly then i'm lucky since they changed to using electric vehicles more so in the colder months, By the time to deliver to my area the batteries are discharged so it's back to the depot to recharge (If a charger is available) Now if they can charge the vehicle delivery is now somewhere between 3-4pm where's before it was 12-1pm before using EVs So that looks like ebays 3 day delivery schedule is out.

Re: Simple Delivery

@reservoir_dogs_74

As I've repeatedly said elsewhere, the 3 day delivery quotes are obviously a trap.

They told sellers we would have 3 days to turnaround orders.

How do we have that if they are telling buyers delivery dates 3 days from date of purchase?

The ability to deselect Royal Mail is another trap. They are the only courier with full UK coverage. So unless you fancy dangling yourself for a postcode discrimination suit it's impossible.

Reading what they are saying, their exact choice of words, is important.

But then you need to look at what's missing.

Re: Simple Delivery

Tracking for anything unless it was RM special delivery never tracked as stated because it always said “update will be made when it’s delivered”, but so many times items were not signed for or tracking wasn’t updated so seller was left wondering if it had arrived especially when buyers were too lazy to leave feedback. The dilemma was “do I ask if they have received parcel and give them chance to say no, so then you had the hassle of trying to prove this to RM but you couldn’t because there was no evidence!! “
Also post offices get paid for every parcel they collect, but they have been told not to take them as the majority will have incorrect labels on due to the robotic system of deciding how much your parcel weighs, forgetting that it goes on size in the UK as well.
It seems that you are not as willing as so many others to join the ever growing walkout club. I hope it works out for you, but I doubt it. Be ready for when they start demanding you can only use the packaging they supply at extra cost. They are a con and not to be trusted at all. Run now.

Re: Simple Delivery

Is your complaint to CMA as they need as many complaints as possible? Don’t bother complaining to the robots that run eBay as they are all programmed to say “does not compute”.

They don't have to listen to you, you're wasting your time.

They do have to listen to regulating authorities if they come knocking though.
